SEC officials just robbed OSU after a field goal after a 1st down at the end of the 1st half. They did not stop the clock again.
They ruled it short of the 1st down and that's why they didn't stop the clock there. Then OSU clocked it on 4th down as the clock ran out. That was all on OSU's coach for not using the TO they had left. Terrible coaching job right there.
Worst crew in the SEC...they suck.
Line to make was the 31. Ball marked at 31. You have to know the situation as an official (for I am one) and stop the clock there to confirm 1st down or not.
The clock should have been stopped.
The best conference in the nation has the worst officials. Very embarrassing.
The ruling on the field(whether it was right or wrong) was that the play was short of the 1st down and the clock continued to run. After that is established the coach should have known to take his final TO to give his team a shot at a FG. He failed to do so which is the reason it was a terrible job by him. I agree that there should have been a measurement but that's irrelevant once the call on the field is made.
Not with the refs ruling that the ball was short of the line. Whether you agree or disagree with the ruling is irrelevant. The clock was supposed to continue to run after that play with the ruling on the field. It's all on the coach at that point. You can't take TOs with you into the half and he should've been ready to call it.
Turned out to be a game factor in a close game
