for Musburger's creepy comments.
Left to right: Reed and Blondie,
What did he say?
What for? There was no reason to apologize for his comments.
That's dumb. It was best part of the game. The man is a legend and still one of the best ever in the business. He and Herbstreit were hilarious in their comments.
He acted in the same way Vern Lundquist used to act about Tee-bow, but it was Katherine Webb and AJ's mom he fawned over.
He sounded just as creepy as Vern used to when doing the FL games.
IN his defense though, it was about 10 minutes into the first quarter and the game was practically over already so they had to talk about something. It was obvious that they had to do something to keep the audience tuned in and not change the channel.

Thats crazy. People are way to sensitive. It's not like he did anything vulgar.
In all fairness, I think any of us would have sounded creepy/out of breath talking while looking at her also.
I think Brent was just wondering what everybody else was: How did such a dweeb like AJ get a chic like that?
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
I disagree. It was a sexist comment. It was totally inappropriate.
Just listened to it again and I thought it was creepy last night but after listening to it again I don't see anything wrong with what he said.....Get over it
AJ's mom's name is Dee Dee Bonner...
JMO, but it creeped me out. Had that been my daughter he was talking about, I would have been very uncomfortable. I'm glad that we don't zero in on the girlfriends on our players.
I don't think you know what that means.
Sounds like a porn name...LOL
You can't be serious. He did absolutely nothing wrong at all. He paid the girl a compliment. She was Ms Alabama... Geesh I am really surprised that anyone could think that was creepy or out of line in any way...
How could anyone be offended by what Brent said?
Back in the days when the Barnyard did politics I was known as the token liberal, but I fully acknowledge that being "offended" by Brent's comments is the type of thing that makes people dislike liberals.
I'm also the father of two daughters and I wouldn't have taken an ounce of offense had Brent made those comments about either of them
I fully expected that an apology and/or some type of punishment would be issued. He had to know those comments "crossed the line.". What is acceptable to share off-air with Herbie is not necessarily OK to say on a national broadcast. Dumb move on his part.
You obviously didn't watch the college world series in 2000-2002. The girlfriends of our baseball team was all over ESPN and the talk of the town. We're no different.
Roses are red, violets are blue, I'm a schizophrenic and so am I.
not suprised at all
Non-issue. Political Correctness gone wild again. I have a daughter and would not have taken any offense from his comments.
In what way was it sexist?

Nope. It would have been sexist if Brent said, "whoa what are AJs hot GF and cougar mom doing out the kitchen."
"People always ask me if I wish I were bigger. I tell them no. I always wanted to be a miniature badass." Dustin Pedroia
Ya'll can have that skinny little Katherine Webb with her tiny little fake boobs...
I WANT A.J.'s MOM... Dee Dee Boner... er.. Bonner
I'm not a liberal, and I'm not politically correct. That's almost funny, because I'm very conservative. I didn't think of it as sexist - just inappropriate. Since she was Miss Alabama, she is a public figure, and I doubt she minded.
I guess I feel differently as a mother than some of you dads do. I love it when people admire my daughters, and they do so all the time. I don't like it when the comments come over as sexual in nature.
BTW, my daughter's boyfriend was offended when a guy tweeted him that my daughter is "hot." He was ready to hunt the guy down. Different guys take it different ways, I suppose. None of her other boyfriends ever cared when other guys noticed her. Some of them even seemed to like it.
Yall gotta watch this video of A.J. McCarron's reaction when told his girlfriend picked up over 100,000 followers on Twitter.
WLTZ NBC 38 was there next to Clay Travis in Bama postgame interviews.. See what AJ McCarron's reaction is when told that Lebron James is now following his girlfriend Katherine Webb on twitter

Inappropriate is what was going through my head. What Musburger said was completely harmless.
