I go to lunch every Tuesday with 4 clempson fans and 3 other Carolina fans by side myself. It's usually a raucous lunch with plenty of hate going back and forth across the table and really drives home the fact that I really don't like them. That saying today's topic/spin they putting fourth is that Dabo is a great human and his players love him vs SOS players don't like him and with the exception of Danny Wurfel none of his players ever speak well of him cause he is just "using" his players for his selfish promotion.
My counter was that SOS looks out for his players well being vs Dabo. My point is that Nuke Hopkins gets a first round draft grade vs encouraging him to do what's best for him Dabo try's to talk him into staying. SOS has always held the position of they are first round then they should go pro. They saying we all sing a different tune if Clowney wanted to come back. I don't think SOS would I think he would tell Clowney to go. Dabo in his self promoting style talked Kyle Parker into coming back and hurting his baseball career also.
That saying back to the original premise of the post. Does anyone have any information or links to counter them on SOS and his relationship with his players? I read a bit about Emmit Smith and SOS were cold toward each other but I just can't buy anything they spin out.
All the players like Spurrier. I'm sure they don't love him during two a days, but more players come back around the program now than ever before. That says it all right there. Alshon, Melvin, and a couple others were here this weekend.
Spurrier does not insist players go pro if they are going to be first round picks, he just tells them that it would be smart if they did. He would certainly welcome Clowney, or anyone back if they wanted to stay.
Just watch the interview with Damario Jefferey, Jerideau, and Ace from the bowl week. They all speak of how much they like him. Spurrier is a players coach if there ever was one.
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
Provide them with the link to Lattimore's press conference when he left and tell them to STHU.
Smith never played under Sos.
"People always ask me if I wish I were bigger. I tell them no. I always wanted to be a miniature badass." Dustin Pedroia
I think Clemson fans wanting discuss how friendly their coach is(as well the rivalry's "overall" record) is a pretty good indicator that we've been whooping that .
Spurrier hates two a days. Notice how he seems to cut a few out every year. What player does not like that? His practices are known for not being exremely physical. Ellis Johnson always thought we did not hit enough. Guess who's right?
Ask them to provide proof of Spurrier's players not liking him and not wanting to visit. Ingram and Alshon were just back on campus this past weekend. Total BS and fabrication, which is part of the spin that they use.
Maybe Dabo's players like him because he acts more their freakin age than Spurrier. Ask your friends of the school in the upstate which players have publicly stated they like their coach. I've never heard a single one of their players say anything like that. And who made head coaching a polularity contest anyway? If they like Dumbo so well, they ought to play harder for him against the Gamecocks. Can they say 4 in a row?
Any number of former players drop by our practices and games. This is something that has always been pointed out as not happening enough at Carolina until Spurrier came along.
The difference is Coach Spurriers players RESPECT him as well as like him.
Datboys players think of him as a clown and a buddy. Everybody gets protected and a pat on the back regardless of situation up at the cult in klimpsom.
Datbo is a clown and his players know that.
Coach Spurrier is a genuine person and a respected head ball coach. Yes there is a HUGE difference in how each teams players see their head coach. Even the "everybody gets a trophy" group at klimp know that dabo is a damn clown that tells everyone they are wonderful.
This. All about the Respect. You earn Spurrier's respect through hard work and you respect him for realizing that the hard work is what it takes to win.
do y'all eat mustard and biscuits.
i got the impression that a current nfl player i talked to is not a big HBC fan....that's ok, he's not a lomg time SC fan either--it's a business deal.
having said that, i doubt dildo squirter has ever gotten a "friend request" from James Davis either.....WGAS
"it aint got no gas in it"
SS doesn't self promote his relationships with past players like Dabo does. Dabo is a fake on and Off the field. He is a snake oil salesman and the dumb taters have bought in hook, line and sinker.
Besides. Who cares about such crap? IS that all they have right now?
Dabo a better man? LMBO! Tell them to STHU and look at the last 4 score boards.
Former TBS photog coming out of retirement to do sand volleyball for my fans!
I would imagine that Bear Bryant's players or Nick Saban's players would not have considered their coaches to have been their "best buds". Coaches are supposed to lead and teach the team.
In fairness most of Dabo's players leave Clemson having never known he was the the head coach.
"Wait. That towel waving douchebag was the head coach???? I thought they gave some older dude a make a wish type deal. Kind of like that fantasy camp thing they put on. Seriously??? My head coach was a dude named Dabo??? I'm being punked right?"
Exact quote as spoken by every Clemson player upon leaving.
First Emmitt Smith isn't a Spurrier fan because SOS didnt kiss his butt to come back for his SR year when SOS took over. As a matter of fact SOS never even approached him about coming back and that didnt sit well. So he bever even coached Smith. As for former players Brady Ackerman loves Spurrier. James Bates, Wuerfel and all those players RESPECT SOS . And that is the way it should be.
My question is do you HAVE to eat lunch with 4 taters? That must makes tuesdays suck..
You debate a group of idiots and they will bring you down to their level. They will then kick your azz with experience. In this case, a bag lunch will at least maintain your IQ.
Actually it's pretty fun to debate and argue with them. At least it was for the last 4 years which this meeting started around 5 years ago with some church folks and has grown to 4 vs 4 lunch battle on bogo Tuesdays for wings. We have dominated them at everything the last half decade so its realy allot of fun for the Carolina side of the table.
I'm a long time member who doesn't post much. However, I couldn't let this one go by. I am friends with a former Clemson player that graduated last year, we discuss the program and his experience with the team and just college football in general. We talk alot and he has passed on many good storys about particular players, but out of respect to him I'm not going to go into too many details. With that being said I can tell you without a doubt a very large majority of the team sees through his crap and thinks he is a joke. The players do not buy into his charade but they do buy into each other and the universtiy. He said most of the palyers were very tight and played for each other. This particular player was a major contributor who is a very good person and loves the University and his teammates, so he has no reason to have a beef with Dabo. Dabo can sell recruits, but once on campus it doesn't take them long to see the true Dabo, who is all about himself. His words, not mine.
I don't know about them, but I sure do!
