From the blog Shutdown Corner: According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, two or three are preparing to make a run at acquiring cornerback Darrelle Revis from the New York Jets when the new league year begins at 4 p.m. … Continue reading →
He would more than likely be an upgrade over Dunta, sorry to say, even if not 100%. Falcons still need a pass rusher, too. The Niners' front office is tepidly denying interest, but he would help them over the hump, as well. I'm on board with making the team better, but the problem is the pass rush could make Deion, Revis, and Champ Bailey in their primes look like a slightly above average secondary.

Apparently their name is just being thrown in there to heat up the SF/NYJ talks.
I'm not sure Revis would be worth the cost to acquire and sign to make happy. Your looking at some high draft picks and an extension that makes him the highest paid DB and maybe the highest paid defensive player. Also aren't Julio and Ryan's contracts up after 2013? Ryan will get Flacco money next time around and Jones could get close to Megatron.
