Feel like we cold collect a few Gs pretty easily to donate to his Rehab Fund.
Yes...it is impermissible to give athletes cash or other extra benefits once their eligibility is exhausted. The NCAA feels that could be used as a recruiting advantage. Booster says to recruit "Hey, I can't give you any money now, but if you will come to State U., I will give you a million dollars when you're done." Recruiting advantage...
Screw that. Give me some money. He won't need it.
So as long as you dont donate any money to the school, you can give money to athletes?
Wrong. I got a stern letter from the USC Compliance department about an athlete that had already graduated. The Compliance Officer even sighted with a link the actual paragraph from the NCAA Rule Book that dealt with that issue.
And here's what it said (in a nut shell). We all know you can't out right pay an athlete to come to the school. You also can't say... "Hey Marcus, come play with us and after you graduate, we'll give you a cushy job with "X" Company that pays "X" $'s for the rest of your life."
It's the same thing in the eyes of the NCAA Rules Committee.
And why would someone that doesn't donate to the school be willing to give Marcus Lattimore a nice chunk of cash? Yea, that's what I thought.
There are certain schools that this happens...makes it more difficult to get caught.
Did Jennifer Stinks i mean Stiles write it?
You should give him a jumbo scallop.
LOL.. .no it was a guy and no I don't remember who. I went back and looked for the email but couldn't find it.
An agent will be giving him money soon enough.
I love marcus but the guy is going to get paid come April. There are plenty of people that could use the charity and wont make in 20 years what marcus will make in one.
(Steps off soapbox)

That rule has never been enforced nor will it ever be.
