It's time. This is our year, let's excite the masses to excite the players.
I honestly think we can do this! We have to spread the word.
Let's begin to push this now. 25k is not enough. 70k is what our players deserve.
I love it. We need to contact Eric Nichols - marketing director and see if we can get on the ball marketing this thing.
Hopefully they are lining up some things down the pipe... Promos, events, concert, etc to get people invocled.
Hell, our players deserve 85K... but you and and I both know even if USC and the fans promote the hell out of it, we have great weather... 40K would be outstanding, 50K would be a miracle, 70K a pipedream.
Having the Masters going on hurts attendance as well.
Not to be the sour apple but I don't understand why they schedule the spring game during the Masters every single year. Maybe I'm in a league of my own but that doesn't make sense.
Personally, I would be there will bells on if it was the week before or after.
Why do our players "deserve" 70k? Win the SEC then they might deserve a crowd like that on top of their free education.
Anyway I never go to the spring game. It kinda bores me.
Love the idea and enthusiasm DHC! I know I'll be there with about 50 great gamecocks.
Frankly, I've always been surprised at the low turnout considering that we have masses of people with nothing more to do with their lives than to go watch football practice.
If they change it from Masters weekend they will significantly increase attendance.
The Masters is the one golf event that I make sure I watch each year. I also try to keep up with the US Open and British Open (and the Ryder Cup when it comes around), but the Masters is my priority as a casual golf fan.

They just watch the Masters or go fishing.
Unfortunately I'll be getting married on April 13th. Better the spring game than actual football season. I'll watch on ESPN3 though.
I agree, the spring game is kinda boring. I went last year and ended up getting a sun burn.
My son is getting married on April 20th. I told him when they picked the date........NOT in football season.

Spurrier really needs to push for people to come to. The first few years he was here he made it a priority and they had Hootie perform and lots going on. The past few years he has barely mentioned it until about a week before.
Problem is, it is usually the weekend of the Heritage or Masters. If it were on a weekend with nothing else happening maybe so.
Boring???...watching golf is very boring.....come on out on the 13th...nothing better than early morning cold beer and then watch the QBs flip it around a lil bit.....This will be my 4th Spring Game in a row and I live 280 miles away.................
I will catch the last 9 holes on Sunday............

Would love to see that many fans but lets be realistic. We barely saw that many fans at some of the regular seasons games with the stellar performance from our students. Man if they have a hard time making it to a noon sec game their going to struggle in April.
Should be at night and the team rosters should be released ahead of time.
Instead they make it at noon, on masters weekend, and each team has guys wearing mismatched jerseys.
My thoughts exactly, I haven't gone in years because of this. And will not be there this year. You would think Spurrier would be against this as well.

Yes! Let's do it! Email and call Ray to promote this thing!

Hey Cooter, I've got this guy on ignore for a reason. You could help by not quoting his stuff, as much as possible, ok. Just messing with you, but it does exhibit that we really can't get away from some people even if we really try.
