Personally, I think USC did a fantastic job on the Farmer's Market redevelopment and would like to see many of the same changes occur in the immediate area surrounding the stadium, including...
The Horseshoe brick gates and wrought iron fencing
Brick pavers and walkways
The campus style classical lamp posts and lighting
Trees, trees and more trees.
Bury the power lines (near the Cock-a-booses)
The palmetto trees and bushes already in place should be kept and make for a good starting point.
I would like to see many of the things that you already stated. Brick pavers instead of asphalt, trees and shrubs, and bury the power lines. I would also like to see a plaza entryway to the front of our stadium with glass and bricks.
Pedestrian bridges or tunnels from the fairgrounds and farmer's market. Large water feature at corner of George Rogers and Bluff. Bury utilities, plant trees, etc.
I also think we should do some "aerial branding". Satellite photos are so common now with Google Earth we should find a way to make a block c or interlocking SC visible from above. Maybe incorporated into the water feature.
Sounds good to me.
Fomerly known as Garnet&BlackAttack.
honestly if we continue the same theme from the farmers market to the stadium block it will be superb. USC spent a great deal of money on the farmers market, and if they make the same commitment there is no way that the stadium block won't turn it out as awesome. especially if they hire the same design consultants!!!!!
Next door to the Stadium, I would like to see the ETV property cleared. The University already owns this. Once it is cleared build a football only complex with indoor facility and two outdoor practice facilities. This would also save the back of the Farmers market for parking. Plus it would put all the football operations in one building and not scattered throughout the stadium. It would also free up space in the stadium for increased recruiting areas and experience on game day.
This is similar to the format at other SEC schools such as Alabama, LSU, Auburn and Tennessee. These are the only ones that I have personally toured. Believe me it is extremely impressive to recruits and the players seem to love it.
Good point. Having the practice fields so far from the locker room is not ideal.
they are building an indoor facility and outdoor facilities already on the farmers market property. indoor facility design is starting, and outdoor facility they have just selected the design team.
agree on offices or an operations facility, or frankly just a more dressed up tailgating area like farmers market.
I would like Palmetto trees at the top of each of the spirals. There was a concept drawing a while back that showed this. Looked great IMO.
I like this idea a lot!!!!

Good idea. I have to imagine the long term plans for the Etv property would be for a football administration building. It is a surprisingly large tract of land.
Alot of bars and strip clubs.
With enough Roundup and some hikers, we could do some interesting "aerial branding" around Clemson.
Now that would be fun. They have some large intramural fields on the north side of the stadium. How difficult would it be to roundup "4 in a row" into the grass.
I would like to see coming down Bluff Road from I-77 garnet and black street lamps (maybe 25-30 ft tall) with USC flags hanging from each one. This of course after all the other great ideas above.
I agree that putting the practice fields/indoor on the etv property would be nice but it probably isn't in the cards.
As for the grounds: bury power lines, brick, trees, shrubbery, maybe a fountain/gamecock sculpture etc.
Keep the elements consistent with what is in the farmer's market. So stadium facade probably more brick than glass when the time comes.
Replace the electric sign or remove it altogether.
It would be nice if George Rogers and the section of bluff outside stadium could be closed prior to game, but that is probably impractical unless they cut some new roads running behind the market.
I really like what they did with market though.
I really like the idea of a huge fountain at the entrance with a brick wall with a gamecock or use the fountain with a laser show with gamecock themes.
George Rogers statue doing the Heisman pose
if you don't win football games, it want matter what the "experience" looks or feels like.
++++++++1! Totally concur!
Agree with this as well. The ETV building is and has been an eyesore and a space suck not related to football. Or make it into a smaller, mirror version of what has just been completed at the Farmer's market. Agree also with a life size or bigger statue of Roger's Heisman would be a great addition outside the stadium.
