Posted by one of the guys, makes some valid and not so valid points. The comments, these folks are flopping like a fish out of water.
Second comment is typical, the one comment comparing 2011 vs 2012 is pretty objective.
"Act like you've been there before and expect to be back." - Bear Bryant
That was an awful article. People pay for that?
O it's a Clemson site. I thought when you said the upstate 247 site you were talking about Wofford.
I could have written that article without even watching the game.
The thought process that they abandoned the run is why they lost is laughable. They weren't given an opportunity to run the ball in the second half due to limited possessions and the situations they were in with down and distance. Its a Clemson talking point that has little basis if you look at their drive charts in the second half.
"Those who live in the past are cowards and losers" -- Mike Ditka
A few of those comments are comedy gold
I agree that Spurrier outcoached Dabo.
That those guys get paid to do that really makes me second guess my career choices.
Goopa channeling HBC, nice.
They think that they lost because they "abandoned the run". After the 1st qtr, we stopped everything they did, whether it be run or pass. They still tried to run it, they just got a bunch of 3 and outs.
There was a lot in that article that made no sense, but it got something right, big time. Coaching is the biggest difference in these two programs. Clowney was not the difference in the game. He was great, but they sacked us 5 times in the game also. The God given ability on the two teams is about equal. The difference is that Spurrier has made an environment and a culture at USC that instills toughness and builds leaders. That is the difference. When things got tough, our guys just dug in. klimpson's players backed off, and eventually quit.
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
The fools had 35 rushing attempts and 24 passes to total their whopping 59 plays, That looks like a fairly run oriented attack. Are they suggesting abandonment of the best aerial attack in the universe? I like the 'they held the ball too long' excuse better.
Sounds like another summer of pumping up the fans to increase readers. By June you will never know they have a 4 game losing streak to us and they will be talking national championships again.
We should all get together and start a Clemson site then feed the fans a bunch of over the top bull. Donate the money to the Gamecock Club.
This is so true. They tried to run it each possession but after that long run on their second TD "drive" of two plays, the big gainers were few and far between. The only possession where they didn't even call a run play at all was the next to last possession right after they went down by 10 with about four minutes left.
Then they punted... down ten... two minutes left. So who cares what they did from the point they went two scores down? They had basically thrown up the white flag by then. They never gave up on the run when the game was in question.
Also, as to why they didn't hand it off to Sammy on the jet sweep: That was a play they knew we were ready for and too solid to get anything off of running it. It would have been futile against our defense & Morris knew it.
Wealth is the product of man's capacity to think.
There are no evil thoughts except one: The refusal to think.
To throw for 300 yards, and win the TOP 40-20 is incredible.
Once again the crap about abandoning the run voluntarily... In the second half, before the last drive, and excepting 3rd and long, they called exactly 50% runs. They just didn't work because we have a great defensive line.
I also don't have time to teach you how to speak hobo.
Held the ball too long, translated from Pickens Countyese to english = they couldn't stop us. Seems pretty simple to me make us punt, cause a turnover - something to keep us from holding the ball too long. Our backup QB had more yards individually than their whole team, guess it's Thompson's fault we held the ball too long. They couldn't find water if they fell out of a boat.
I need to go back and watch the replay more closely. I didn't realize we had to double team three of their players on defense. I'll need to watch closely to see how our other five players on offense managed to bulldoze their other eight defenders.
I also learned from the article that DT DJ Reader dominated our OT Brandon Shell. Normally OTs block DEs, not DTs, so I wonder what Brandon was thinking.

Pretty honest article. It is amazing that 4 in a row has finally injected some reality into the Clemson line of thinking.
I disagree with the premise of the article. They haven't it rock bottom in the rivalry yet.
