QB (1) - Drew Barker. Next in line likely Tyler Harris. Both top 10 QB's in this class.
RB (1) - Derrell Scott or Nick Chubb. Both are great players. Different style runners. We've had more success guys like Chubb, but have no one like Scott on the team and haven't in a long time.
FB (1) - Joe Blue
WR (2 or 3) - Shaq Davidson, Braxton Berrios, Terry Googer, Blake Bone, Josh Malone, Chris Godwin. I personally think we should only take two WR's and take an extra OL or DL rather than 3. At this point it seems like Googer, Davidson and Bone are the most likely three.
TE (1) - KC Crosby or Kalan Ritchie - We likely lead for both. I'd personally prefer Crosby because he's more versatile and I think he could help the trend we've got going right now with difficult to cover TE's.
OL (2 or 3) - At this point it appears we're only taking two and those two are Bentley Spain and Donnell Stanley. Behemoth OL Orlando Brown is still interested, but it doesn't look like they're going to push for more than two.
DT (1 or 2) - I don't think they'd turn away Poona Ford, Lamont Gaillard, Dexter Wideman. They lead for Ford and Wideman and have piqued Gaillard's interest. Wideman may be on the board as a DE and also may be a prep placement. They're also working 5* Andrew Brown from VA for a visit. If all three (ford, wideman, gaillard) wanted in, I could see it happening. Apparently Wideman could fall at any time, which would be good for him so he could focus on getting eligible. I would guess they'd still push for the other two and take them if they wanted to come. Should something unexpected happen and they miss on these three, they could turn to Naquez Pringle who's a good prospect in his own right.
DE (2) - As mentioned above, Wideman could be classified as a DE. The coaches are also after studs Lorenzo Carter, Daswhawn Hand, Lorenzo Featherston, etc. They recently offered BC commitment and teammate of Lamont Gaillard, Harold Landry. Landry's stock is climbing and he could be the most likely high end pass rusher that the gamecocks have a good shot to land. He would also help with Gaillard. Kendal Vickers was a commitment in the 2013 class and is still working to get into school for this summer. If he goes the prep route, he'd be a part of the 2014 class. Serious log jam here.
LB (1) - Bryson Allen - Williams
DB (3) - Darrin Smalls, DJ Smith, Wesley Green. These three seem like they're the hot names on our board right now. Smalls is clearly leaning toward the Gamecocks. Smith may be too, although he's pretty open. Green is a Clem lean right now, but that could change easily. These three would be an excellent DB class.
That's a total of 17 which is on the high end of any predictions i've seen for overall numbers, but there's just too much talent to turn it away, IMO.
Nice list. I would add Terry Googer to the list of players we take in this class.
So who do you take off? Number won't even get to 17 IMO unless one or two are placements.
I think we might have to take our juco placement at DE.
I've been worried about DE while peoe have fretted about lb and dt, and it still looks like the real weak point going forward.
We are going from three years of good to elite DE pass rushing to complete uncertainty.
Googer over Bone. IMO

rmctacdmc, Googer over Bone like the above poster said. Plus, Wideman maybe a placement for prep school. Hope I'm wrong, but I don't see us getting Gaillard.
The cool part is almost all 17 are four star rated by the services and most have major offers
I think that is a pretty accurate list
We will get a stud defensive end when it is all said and done. I bet they would take Scott and Chubb if it falls that way
Very good info, Eddy. Thanks for that.
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
