Ellis Johnson "head coach in waiting at Carolina".....Ummmmmm No thanks.....Like another poster has said he is a great Asst Coach and a terrible Head Coach....
serious or sarcasm?
If he ends ip getting canned, I could see him as DC at AU under a new regime.
Hope u aren't serious with this post...pretty ridiculous on all of that. 0 chance of any of that happening.
In fairness, Larry Fedora left the cubbard very empty and they have played a tough schedule.
On which point?

Sorry, but while EJ has good "connections" within SC, I do not remember him ever tearing it up on the recruiting side. In fact, it seems that he did not go full bore in recruiting, but leaned heavily on Whammy and others. He is a great DC, but we know how to attack his Ds.
USM should give him at least another year to see if he can show any progress. Any coach deserves more than 1 year to show what he can or cannot do. After all, who will USM try to hire to replace EJ and how will candidates feel if they only think they may get 1 year to turn around the program?
screw him and all the other taters on his staff
You don't fire a coach after one year. I don't care how bad it is or what's happened so long as the coach hasn't done something to embarrass the school along the way (i.e. get arrested, drop f-bombs in press conferences type stuff). Ellis took over a team that lost alot of seniors from last year and had nothing coming back at QB particularly. Fedora was no dummy, he knew he needed to get out while the gettin was good. Ellis actually landed a big time QB recruit but he's still a freshman and has been hurt alot. Ellis and the AD knew what Ellis was getting into when he was hired. No one thought it would go this bad though. I feel terrible for him and his family. I hope he gets at least one more year, wins some games and gets it turned around.
