2 run pinch hit HR.
He is amazing...Brian McCann can stay on the DL as far as I'm concerned
That's a little crazy
Whats crazy is Gattis' run production. What to do when B macc is off the DL?

Go Gamecocks !!!
Trade him. He is in the last uear of his deal and i doubt they can afford to resign him. He likely is headed to the al to be a dh

Wow. They just said the Braves have hit 29 HRs in 15 games and have out-homered their opponents 29-9.
A bunch of power in the lineup. Its go be hard to take a series vs Atlanta
This.... 3B of the future and throw Uggla in the deal. Lol
I wish they could get Rendon from the Nationals.
There is worse things than having an all star come off the DL. We'll figure it out.
An all star you say? Certainly not.
These folks have lost their fuggin minds . Its a good problem to have....
Also heard a stat earlier this week that the Braves had more HRs than their opponents had earned runs. And that since the All-Star break last year, the Braves had 3 of the top 5 best ERA's in baseball.
The crazy (and sickening) thing is that the biggest contract on the roster is Dan Uggla. They've got all their young talent locked up at good prices for 3-5 years.
I also believe McCann is going to walk after this year to go be a DH in the AL. Someone like Boston or NYY will overpay bigtime for his bat. If I was Frank Wren, I'd at least look into what I could get for McCann while he has some value. Remember you still have Gerald Laird to catch Teheran and give Gattis a day off if you get rid of McCann.
But I can also see holding onto McCann as the starting catcher because you don't know how Freddie Freeman is going to hold up at 1B. That oblique injury may be something that lingers all year so you may need Gattis to play some at 1B and in that case have McCann behind the plate.
Braves are 13-0 when scoring at least 1 run lol. Amazing stat
Gattis, aka "Paul Bunyan" is so freaking strong. He doesn't even take a step when he swings, and he gets all that power anyways.
I'm not ready to ditch McCann yet, though. That is a great left handed bat, and a veteran. We haven't seen him healthy in quite a while, either. He will be one of the best hitters on the team, if not the best, still.
I can't wait to get Freddie back.
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
A major part of a trading McCann equation: the pitchers really like Gattis behind the plate including his calls and so forth.
Left to right: Reed and Blondie,
I like El Oso Blanco but let's not vote him into the Hall of Fame him quite yet. McCann is a multi-year all star who has seemed to fall off a bit the last couple of years as the wear and tear has aged him. He's still a great offensive player and a good but not great catcher. Remember the braves still have Bethancourt in AA getting ready to the be the next catcher. If you watched Gattis try to play 1B the other day, you understand how much progress he still needs to make to even be serviceable there. Laird and Pagnozzi were signed as insurance because of McCann's injury and the loss of David Ross to free agency. Pagnozzi is now at AAA and I already mentioned Bethancourt at AA. The logical thing to do is to include Laird in a deal to get rid of him rather than keeping 3 catchers. If they needed another catcher later in the year, they can call up Pagnozzi or Bethancourt. Pagnozzi has som MLB experience with a couple of different teams. Laird is probably better than either of those guys at this point, but he's also a veteran who has played a lot, and I don't think he expected to be sitting most days in favor of a rookie. He's be one that several other teams would like as a catcher.
I know they like Bethancourt as their catcher of the future, but what do you do with Gattis in that scenario? Freeman is one of the best (if not the best) young 1B in the league, and his contract is up at the end of this year. You know they're going to re-up with him as he's only making $560K this year.

IF Gattis keeps hitting, I think he'll be the full time catcher and Betancourt as the backup/defensive replacement. Betancourt is MLB ready defensively (amazing pop up times and a cannon for an arm) but he can't hit.
Fomerly known as Garnet&BlackAttack.
I tell ya, Gattis looks like he's holding a toothpick when he swings. That guy is amazing along with Justice.
BTW...did ya'll see that homer Justice hit last night...Man was that ball scorched! AMAZING
mmm mmm mmm "South Carolina Gamecocks" Good
