Connor did not practice last night and is not scheduled to practice tonight. The QB position is not like all the others. Him missing the preparation and the repetition/chemistry with his teammates is a very bad thing.
That's a fact
He should not have played against Wofford.
Shaw hasn't done too well on the road in the first place, so it cant matter that much. Hope the poor guy feels better. He has been battered all year.
That is concerning. On the positive side, Thompson is getting additional work. I get the feeling Connor is hanging on by a thread, so if he does go down at least Dylan will be more prepared.
The rug really tied the room together, did it not?
He will spend his time in the film room and with the game plan. His foot needs rest and they are trying to get it as much as possible.
Just my opinion... I would start Thompson...kid loves to throw it around and what better D to do it to right now?..if he seems to get rattled, put Connor in...I feel he will play better coming off the bench
"Tigers love pepper......they hate GAMECOCKS"
Against that secondary of CU, I sort of prefer Dylan. He throws a much better deep ball
I have mixed feelings and certainly have no answer but Spurrier would never do that.....bench Connor to start Dylan unless Connor could absolutely not play.
Did you hear or read his PC comments? He said he could do that
DT throws a better ball for sure but he also will put the ball in places it should not be thrown in. There have been a lot of INT's dropped that DT has thrown this year. We need to control the ball keep their O off the field. Conner gives us that chance when plays break down he can get 6-8 yrds for first downs. He should not have played last week but thats in the past. Shoot him up with some feel goods and lets go he has a month to rest after this game.

Ball control is way more important than the big play. Thompson goes 3 and out way too much for our defense to survive this game. I would rather have the guy that has beaten Georgia and Florida rather than East Carolina and Alabama Birmingham.
I love Thompson but Shaw has proven he can do it in big games. plus yours already proven to be at Clemson seller. Plus he has already proven to be a Clemson killer.
Half the fanbase is convinced Thompson is a better qb because he put up big numbers against a couple of terrible Conference USA defenses. They forget how he looked at Vandy, or how he didn't do anything against UF. Seems they're completely unable to distinguish between beating up on bad competition and playing a team with a pulse.
Pretty sure nobody said he was a better qb... Connor cannot even practice this week...with that and the fact that DT takes shots down the field(something that HAS to happen this game vs this D)...we believe he should at least start

In that environment and in a game this big, starting DT would scare me to death. Not ready for that role yet. Unless Connor can't put one foot in front of the other, he needs to start and play all night.
No actually, I did not hear his comments, but I was more talking about Dylan being the starter for the Clemson game. He said that Dylan might start?
Does holding him out off practice necessarily mean that he would also be unable to at least work on his timing in the passing game? I'm not talking live action but rather like they do in pregame warmups.
Yes, held out of everything. Our practices have very little contact any way. He keeps re-aggregating the injury by running.
He will suck it up Satt night. Kid is a warrior.
I wish he hadna played against Wofford but I would think that with 2 years worth of reps our timing will be ok.....if not, it wouldna anyway. I'm sorry yall but if 14 doesnt win it or Ellington doesnt play QB a bunch, it's purely up to the D
Heard from a good source close to the team that Shaw should be in good shape for Saturday. This guy was spot on on Shaw's scapula injury earlier this year, so I put a good deal of trust in him.
You are not seriously suggesting that Clemson's defense has a pulse are you?
