It’s starting to piss me off. Where do they get this crap we are bringing in Thugs and dumb asses into our program? What do they base this off? I’m sick of it they single out our black kids with dreads and label them thugs. They think Sammy and Nuke are some sort of angels or something with these high academic standards. Do they not see the kids like Shaw, Thompson Lattimore no they thing because DJ and Clowney are head hunters they are thugs. I’m telling you this steams from our domination and something else deeper and far more semester, Racism . I know we have had issues with the confederate flag in this state and we have racism among our fans as well but it’s just rampant on Clemson campus. They have a freaking monument built to honor Ben Tillman one of if not the biggest racist in the history of this state. Thomas Clemson was a racist but Tillman the one they love the most takes the cake. I went into the cooper library to use the facilities Saturday while at Clemson during a tailgate and low and behold they have a monument inside of it to James F Byrnes, yet another racist . How is this not brought out more by fans ? People need to be educated on the founding of that racist intuition and should be used against them in every aspect of recruiting to fundraising. I’m sick of this “academic “ superiority complex they think they have over us and I’m sick of this attitude that we have thugs on our team. Its like a propaganda factory in the upstate they just flush crap out and run with it based on zero facts. But the facts are they have always been and are still to this day a bunch of racist.
this is not new. They have been acting like our players were thugs and their players were choir boys since the dawning of the interwebs.
A.J. Cann is a great guy, too, as well as Seth Strickland. Justice Cunningham is anything but a thug. He's a strong Christian from a family of strong Christians, and he's an honor roll student.
DJ is very aggressive, but Clowney just plays the game freakishly well. I don't see him as a thug at all. He's always smiling when he takes off that helmet.
Its because of our trash talkers. DJ and Hampton do act like thugs on the field. If Clemson players acted like that, I would hate those players too.
this is one from a few days ago about Jungle Boi:
another of a long line of Chicken players who manage to barely stay eligible, have a coach who could care less about teaching young men any class or life skills and they come to SC as a stepping stone to the NFL and to play in the SEC...and also where they can act any kind of way they want to and not get pulled from the game or disciplined.....that program has sold it's soul to win and the Swearinger's and Garcia's and the like will always be welcome there....i thank God we don't have them at Clemson....there's a reason they win and it's called winning at all costs....we can sleep at night knowing that at least Dabo believes in something called character..and education.....the Christian piece, well, that's up to the individual but Dabo, to me, would be a good man even if he wasn't religious....it's called character and manhood and class...that program in Columbia, from top to bottom, is worthless in every way other than beating us lately....idiots like Jared Cook, Swearinger, Garcia, Watson, Summers and the like wouldn't ever have the pride of wearing a Paw because they don't rate to set foot in our program....let them win with those POS players....it won't last, it never does.
I guess they forgot about Jamie Cumbie, Joe Craig and Deandre McDaniels.
it's just the way they roll up there... they cannot fathom why anyone would go to USC over Tatertown.... Absolutely blinded to the fact that anyone with the option would choose USC over them.. so.. obviously if they didn't go there it's because they are of low moral character or they were too stupid to get in the Princeton of the South (oblivious to the fact that our admission standards for athletes are basically identical).
they got *itch slapped for the 4th straight year.... they are soft, they have a soft coach, the have a soft schedule and they have a soft conference. They are having a hard time dealing with it... Case in point, how many posts on TNet still bring up Danny Ford?? They are stuck in the 1980's when they were brought to relevance by cheating their arses off.....
Sad bunch... sad bunch
Why you go over there to Tigernet and come back surprised at what they say is beyond me.
Its a Clemson site. It isn't where one would go for unvarnished view of our program. If you want to go to that site and have some laughs, great. But to be surprised they don't present our players, coach, and program in glowing terms? Welcome to reality.
Don't spend one second worrying about this. DJ, and a lot of our defensive players have attitude on the field. What he did saturday night was not to draw attention to himself, it was to get in the head of the opposition. They play with swagger on the field, and that is a good thing.
I can tell you that DJ is a great person off the field, and his mother would kill him if he had that same swagger in school, or around town. DJ is a better person than anyone who plays for that coach, who happens to be a preacher during the day, and a pimp at night.
They are rationalizing the situation, which is that their school has been passed by their rival, and is in an irrelevent conference that will continue to get worse. klimpson is very close to being the same status as Western Michigan, or Miami of Ohio. That is the truth.
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
That is just loser talk. Just trying to make themselves feel better.
Add Thug Zachary, OJ McPuffie, Courtney let's get a DUI Vincent, the OL that ran over the guy on the jet ski, Duane WeDoneSmokeditall Coleman, and who can for get Sammy Potkins to the list. I'm sure there's a ton of scumbags I'm leaving off and have never heard off. I've been told by CLEMPSON people they saw multiple players in breaking laws (circa 99-03) and the Clemtech rent-a-cops just looked the other way. Sure we've had our issues, but once SOS get the trash swept out our incidents have been few and far between. DJ makes some less than wonderful decisions on the field IMO, but it's because he's an emotional player. I don't think they can cite on instance of a truly dirty hit (sorry but head to head doesn't cut it my book that is the pansification of the game), or off-field indiscretion since he's been here. To hell with clemtech, abo, and their low brow, low class, trashy fans.
34-17, 4-3, 7-1, 29-7, 34-13 ALL STOP!!! It's a GREAT TIME TO BE A GAMECOCK! Back 2 Back Natty's! DOMINATION By GAMECOCK NATION!
Their players would be talking trash if they'd done anything worth pride.
They have always thought our players, fans, students, coaches, stadium, hometown, mascot, etc. were vastly inferior to their orange clad crap.
I also don't have time to teach you how to speak hobo.
"You’re either a block-gobbler, a farmer, or you’re a damn hunter and playmaker."
Agreed. They are upset for losing...they are embarrassed and they simply have to vent in this way to feel better about their situation. Not all fans are like this, as I know some that are great people and I don't think they'd think this way (although we're all human and prone to act out of character at times when we react based on emotion rather than intelligence) and say crap like this. It's an emotional reaction not founded on fact or logic. They don't know DJ or any other player so to even make such statements about people they don't know and have only seen on a football field is just ignorant and immature. I did read a statement by a Clemson fan that said similar statements and attacked HBC saying he was not a Christian, didn't care about the players etc. To me, this is just sad. There's so much more that's not seen off the football field by coaches, players etc. To lose a football game and get so upset that you resort to attacking a person's character, not based on facts, but based solely on how something "seems" to you in your emotional state is pathetic. I expect it from the 12 year old kids but just pretty sad when it comes from adults.
But as someone else said, what else can be expected by going to their site? I'd be shocked if I didn't read garbage like that there.
Thugs are not football players that play with passion and a chip on there shoulder....Thugs are arrested constantly...drop outs...career criminals....as Duck said.."grow a pair"....

We as fans should not get worked up over their foolish comments, period. Best thing we can do is let them talk and whine and complain, while we keep moving forward to making our stamp as one of the premiere college football programs in the SEC/nation, and they will soon be an afterthought. Every school you go to, every city you go to, etc. has its good & bad. Its funny hearing someone call someone a thug, when in that actual statement, all they are doing is being judgemental, which is just as bad. No one is perfect, period. In saying that, someone please correct me if I am wrong, but don't we have one of the best graduation percentages in the SEC as far as the football team is concerned? I believe I heard Spurrier say that once. I also remember Spurrier saying, as we continue to get better and become an elite program, that there would be plenty of haters out there. Fans hated on Spurrier and his program when at Florida too, heck even some of us did. We have a great program now. Perfect, of course not, but we have some great young men in this program now, on & off the field, and as far as Vic Hampton is concerned, he deserves an equal chance to be redeemed in spite of his past, as much as anyone else anywhere. People are ultimately responsible for their own choices, but I can tell you, as someone who works with kids who have an incarcerated father now, it has given me a new perspective on what many of these kids grow up in, very similar to what Hampton had to endure. The lack of a fatherly figure in the home for most of these kids leaves them to the dogs to try and figure out this thing called life for themselves, and when they step out the door and see gangs, violence, drugs, etc., it comes after them whether people want to believe that or not. Instead of calling these student/athletes "Thugs", we as fans should be building them up the best we know how, regardless of what team they play for, because collegiate football is 9 times out of 10 the end of their football road, and life goes on. I for one, hope & pray Vic never sees what those people on that board are saying about him, because its ashame, when you have a 20 year old young man in Dylan Thompson who has taken the time to build a friendship with Vic and help him rise above what his past says about him, but yet we have adults who hide behind a computer screen from an opposing team calling him "Thug". Here is to hoping Vic can have a bright future on & off the football field.
"Never look down on anyone unless you're helping them up."
Thug coming from a school that had Ray Lewis give a pep talk before a game? Talk about Thugs!
Why should we care what they say? Just hold up four fingers.
We recruit the same players. Do they think Dabo didn't want Clowney? Because I'm pretty sure Clemson was on his final list of three.
At the end of the day, who cares? Give me the 1980s Miami team anytime.
I'm glad to hear this. Thanks for posting it. I don't know DJ at all, though I know several of the players, and some of their parents. Everybody I've met in this program qualifies as "good people."
I don't often pull the racism card, but calling them thugs certainly brings it to mind. What you said about DJ's mom is true of most of the players' parents. I'm a teacher, and I can tell you that I get as much or more support for discipline from my African American parents than I do from any other group. If I call a parent and tell them their child has been disrespectful to me, they are all over it. If I want someone to say a prayer in a program, my African American boys have always been the first to volunteer. Teach school for awhile if you want to be color-blind.
I pity the fool who calls them "thugs" to me.
And Thompson thinks Spurrier is a Christian. That's good enough for me.

I think the world will be a better place when Americans stop looking for racists around every corner.
Clemson just sucks. We don't need to start pointing at their racists from 125 years ago to prove it.

That & the " academic requirements" they claim as an obstacle CU has to deal w/ when in reality it's the same as SC's
