I get FM and the staff are trying to change the culture and build the best possible team for next season but worry about bringing in so many guys at once. This new team will be much more talented than the previous one but is not going to compete for titles in a year. Would it not be better to build and hold more schoalrships for next year when we are in one some higher rated guys early? It seems we would need more attrition next year to bring in 3 which is certainly possible with bringing in so many guys at one point. Someone is bound to not be happy.
FM is going to cut several of the players he signed to bring in a larger than expected class next year. Rinse and repeat until some higher ups get tired of it or the Miami job opens up, whichever happens first.
Is that what he is doing Bateman? I thought he was trying to build a team with a little bit of heart and desire. Last years team sure had very little of it.
when will pickens tech get tired of brownell pat?
Does he have a track record of doing as you suggest or is it speculation?

Granted it is a Kansas State blog (or at least that is the way it appears) so take it with a grain of salt and just read the facts and not the speculation at the very end.
The Wally Judge situation does sound like the Brian Richardson situation.
Either way, to me personally, six players to leave in five years. That is basically one a year, I think that is about right, especially given the amount of transferring that takes place in college these days.
You can be your own judge though.
Sports news, commentary and entertainment (by Brady)
I stand corrected, I did a little research and found that in Martin's five years there were 12 transfers although if you read the two parts that I am about to post, two of the players were walk-ons so I can't count those guys.
That would make it 10 transfers in five years.
Here are the two articles.
Since we’re just waiting around and speculating on what players (not to mention Frank himself) will transfer from the program this offseason, it seems like a great time to look back on all the...
Well, this is a little awkward now. I actually wrote Part One of this series Sunday night, at which time I had still managed to convince myself that none of the rumors could be true and surely...
One transfer or similar attrition casualty is normal for virtually all programs in D1 nationally, which is what FM averaged at KSU. He may have had a few more early in his stint at KSU, just like he will at USC.
My opinion is I like this style. It is Saban-esque(obviously Saban knows what he is doing) and I think it will work. Some people won't like it and that is fine. But those are the people that don't like Frank's bad language, and what I would say to them....well I will refrain because of board rules.
The simple fact is this. This is a business. If you don't agree and think college sports is about something other than winning and putting butts in the seat, I suggest you build a time machine and go back to the 60s. Otherwise, acclimate yourself with the 21st century.
I think Frank will win at USC and get us to the dance with regularity. I think the realistic time frame for this is not this season but the next. Not that it is guaranteed, but I think after this coming season we will really start to see results.
Elliott "Small" Fry
The 2 and 3 star types we are signing know what they are getting into. They get a chance to play at an SEC school for 1-2 years and prove themselves. If not they can transfer mid major which was the only offers they were getting beforehand anyway. They have nothing to lose really.
So you are psychic now, too?
You have absolutely no clue what Martin is going to do next year, next month, or next week.
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
His behavior can be....erratic at times
I see what you did there.
You can't see! I can't see! All that matters is can the f*&%ing horse see! That's a raid!
That is a very good point. It's an excellent opportunity for them, at worst.
On another note, I like Jaylen Shaw more and more everyday. I think he's going to work out very well for us.
If only we had a coach who could instill some heart and desire into our players. Surely that wouldn't be Martin's job...
Seriously? If you think this is a Martin issue, you are way off base. Some of those guys just don't want to put in effort, and if you think there is anything that is going to change that, you are sadly mistaken.
Really, there is only playing time for 9-10 players in a game. Anyone else who gets in a game will play only briefly. That means the 3 or 4 guys at the end of the bench are going to watch most of the games instead of play in them. Some, or all of them will figure out that they either must improve, or they will need to seek opportunities elsewhere. That will account for some of the turnover just about every year.
