in your view?
My impression is that some here expected us to sign at least 4 of the final 6. Is that the norm out there in terms of fan expectations?
I saw one post from a disgusted fan saying that with Walton going to AUB, we might have to settle for Bryant and Ngakoue. For me, a Bryant/Ngakoue finish would be outstanding. In fact, if we get Skai Moore and no one else, I would consider that a very good finish.
You expressed mine pretty well. Think we have the best chance at Moore. If we sign others fine, if we don't then we have more to sign next year.

I think what most on here are concerned with is losing players to an Auburn team that is probably 2-3 years away from having a decent team and USF that is mediocre at best and Maryland that will take years to come to have a winning program.....Losing a player to Fl State is one thing but the others are head scratchers....
The common theme with these last few is the desire to stay in state. Evidently staying home and playing closer to friends and family are a bigger priority. Good class as is, but we do need LBs for sure. We may be better off in 2014 if we only get one of the 2-3 remaining. We have some pretty good hay in the barn already. Time will tell.
Do you really scratch your head over a kid choosing an in state school? Majority of the time if you are battling an in state school, in state wins. Not always but a high percentage of the time.

At this point if we got just Moore I would probably be happy. At this point I am just hoping not to get shut out.
Happy with Moore. Moore and Ngakoue is a good finish.
Well thought-out post. Pulling kids from the states of other programs is much like if we wanted to pull Devaris Brunson from ECU.
A good finish would mean not being in the position we are right now, hoping that we get one or two of these guys left on the board. A good finish means to me, filling our needs for the most part (which I don't think we did as well with as we should have) and finishing the year out ranked no worse than 14th in the rankings.
What I find most comical about the hand-wringing over Walton is how many people downgraded him when his name first came up a few weeks ago. I believe there were people calling him Penn State's Kight Dallas.
Curious...other than LB, where do you believe we failed to satisfy needs?
I agree with you about Moore. That is all we really need, is one more LB. A lot of people cannot handle one player not signing with us, I'm not quite that picky.
A month ago, most people posted that a great finish would be Rodgers, Williams, and Yannick. We got two out of those already. When new names were introduced as possiblilities, people expect them to be part of the class.
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
What Cockfather said right below your post.
I agree with you Plano.
I would be happy with just any of our remaining targets. Some of the coaches should be on the clock next year.I can certainly understand if a kid wants to stay closer to home. With that said,if SC cannot have a big year recruiting in 2014 they might need to find another profession. With 15-20 D1 recruits in the state of SC alone you would have to be terrible not to pull a good class.

Plano I wouldn't consider only finishing with Moore a "very good finish" especially conisidering we were in litreally in the top two of those six.
IMO of those final six, and as we know two of which are going elsewhere, I rate the finish as such...
Piss Poor - 0
Poor - 1
Decent - 2
Good/Excellent - 3+
I'm thinking Moore and one of Lyons/Ngakoue. I'd sport wood if Bryant was one of two.
My %s fwiw...
Lyons 40%(edit: dropped to 25% after reading TM's latest)

Moore plus at least 1.
Spurrier...I appreciate him plenty
Not talking about neighboring states where distance isn't as big a factor. Talking about Md and Fl. Also talking about decent prospects that are also being recruited hard by flagship in state schools.
