I say Virginia.
As long as it's not a west coast team, I'm okay with whatever.
Well, I was thinking Oregon St. might be possible.
It will be somebody who is at the top of the list of who UNC wants eliminated.
I'm going with NC State
I'll take State or FSU
It very well might be. I know a few years ago no team from the east had ever gone west and won a Super Regional. I don't know if that remains the case or not.
In fact, I remember reading how rare it was to even take 1 game out of 3, so rare they had specifically mentioned the teams to do it, us versus Stanford being one of them.

FSU or Virginia.
Fox has already made several calls to his boys on the committee instructing them not to send us to Hole de Crappelle. He does not want to even run the chance of his team facing and possibly losing to his former assistant let alone a team that has owned him the last 11 years.

I agree about them not wanting to face us be I do remember them putting us out at least once, if not a couple of times.
Virginia. The committee has a thing about rematches for some reason. Clemson will be in our regional, and we will be matched up with Virginia.
One time - 2007 and only because we committed an endless amount of uncharacteristic errors in the two games we lost. We beat 'em in 2002, 2003 and 2004.
They were better than us in '07 - had better pitching. We were clearly better in '02, '03 and '04. I'll pass on them this year - would much prefer NCST or FSU (still waiting for a matchup with the Seminoles).
I would not say they were better then us in '07. We had a 6-0 lead mid way through the first game and blew it because of errors. Reece Havens and Travis Jones uncharacteristically booted three routine plays that got them back in the game. Harris Honeycutt shut them down until those costly errors. We won game 2 despite a thunderstorm that suspended the game to the next day and lost game three in middle innings again because of errors by Havens and Rheinhold that blew it open for them. We were leading that third game as well.
I thought we were leading both games but our relief pitching couldn't hold on either time?
I remember all 3 of those games well. Especially game 1. I just knew when Grinestaff hit that grand slam deep into the night that we had won that game. How wrong I was. CuJo was never the same after that game.
Yes - remember it well. We had no bullpen that year, and it cost us in Chapel Hill and in Athens (year before or after, can't remember). That was the difference and why I thought UNC had the better team.
