What sucks worse... to be Jimmy Clausen or a Panthers fan?

I didn't say he didn't make his teammates better. I responded to your comments on Tebow. Denver won 4 games last year, three more than the Panthers. How many games did Denver win before Tebow was given a shot this year? Now he's got his team in the playoff hunt. $Cam doesn't. $Cam has had a remarkable statistical year, one I didn't think he could possibly have. And as far as physical talent, there's no comparison; Tebow isn't in $Cam's class physically. But it's not all a/b stats and how you get there, it's a/b wins and losses.

I'm on the same page with you as far as stats vs. wins & losses. I'll take W's all day long.

  • Thanks for correcting me on Dalton, Duck And I am a Falcons fan so I know all about Michael Vick. I remember his dazzling runs and some of his throws and I would say Wow, did he just do that. And then I would say, man why did he do that. And he is still doing that in Philly now. Nothing as changed with Vick.

I agree with you on Newton being a me guy. I think that will determine his success in the league. Can you become a team guy and a leader in the huddles. QBs are leaders. That is the nature of the position. Newton is not a leader right now.

Also, i havent seen his ability to read and react yet. He is relying strictly on his abilities. He wont be able to do that down the line. He will have to start changing plays at the line and relying more on his instints that just athletic ability.

All valid points here, but we have to remember that's its year 1. I see no signs that suggest that he won't be able to do these things.

I disagree on that. The NFC South is going to be tough with the Saints and Falcons at the tough of the division. I dont believe they are on the level of those two teams yet. I think they could be 8-8 next year, but until they can prove it, I dont think they will pass up the Falcons and Saints.

You have a point. But I think we will be in the playoffs next year or just missing it. Cam with a training camp, healthy players on defense and hopefully better players on special teams...I think we could do it. One thing I would like to see more of (a poster alluded to it earlier) is the use of the running backs. I think we need to find an even balance of run/pass ratio. That will limit the ROOKIE mistakes that he made this year for next year. Someone said earlier that he is just relying on talent and I agree...what a talent he is. He is setting records with basically no off season. Im preety sure he feels the presure that he has to perform to win the games with no defense or special teams...so naturally he is pressing. If he matures lookout league because he by no means is Mike Vick...he is totally something else.

Tebow's record is a little misleading also. He's played awful teams, and he's in a awful division.

The Panthers problems isn't the offense.

^^This^^...W's are W's & that's all that matters, but you gotta have some perspective & see what's going on...I still think Denver would be even better with Cam (even factoring in his turnovers), but that's JMHO...& again, I love Tebow & am pulling for him, but I'm just callin it how I see it
