UGA at #5.....laughable.....they lost 9 defensive players......SI doesnt even have them in there Top 10........and Clemsux?....smh.....
I also don't have time to teach you how to speak hobo.
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
We continually talk about how pathetic Clemson's schedule is, then we bash a preseason poll. A poll is a reflection of where pollster feels a particular team will be ranked at the end of the year. Pollster is NOT saying they feel Clemson is the sixth best team in America. They are saying they can fall out of bed and win nine games. You know FSU is over rated, Ga is probably over rated, we should again beat them, but good gravy they don't have to do much to end up highly ranked.
I'm not familiar with the writer of the article and do not recogize him as "a pollster". Pollsters do the tecnical job of assembling a large (usually) group of respondents. That group can be pre-selected as in sports "polling" and with polling meaning adding their vote to the group or selected randomly with pre-set guidelines for the type of group to be selected. I'm sure we all know that. The article is nothing like a poll but an opinion piece and well written.
This is one man's opinion and, noticing that he has conversed often on 247, he may be very well-qualified OR Steve Miller (that's a joke not intended to be mean). He may be a great writer and anylyst but I'm just not familiar with him.
As noted above, something similar came out of the ESPN bag of writers recently It may be the same writer or not or possibly a very incisive look. It's one writer's opinion.

Lots of highly rated teams that lost a ton from last season. There will be a lot of shuffling once play starts.
I misspoke. Stand by my premise though. Year before last (I think) heard Phil Steele defending his pick of TCU as being number 1. He basically said they will double digit favorites in every game, but he certainly didn't think they were the best team in America but they had the easlest road. It was a bad prediction anyway and hopefully this "writer" is also making a bad prediction
Most preseason rankings are really just based on what the previous year's team did. Not exactly the best way to predict who is going to be good.
Clueless view from 20,000 feet. USC listed behind UGA, who we've betten three years in a row, and Clemson @ four years in a row. Guess we'll just have to keep proving it again every year.
Clemson ranked ahead of us in just pure cluelessness and insanely insulting
rankings like this seem to imply that since we lost lattimore we will take a giant step back. Latti was a great player, but we won a lot of games without him the last couple of years too. I don't really see us taking a step back b/c of him leaving b/c of the other talent that we have.
phil steele makes it very clear that he is ramking how he thinks they will finish.....most pre-season polls are understood to be "power" polls....i dont know what the clueless that wrote this garbage list was thinking.
it's hard for me to read anything past the idiotic phrase "any number of teams could challenge for..." ...does that mean zero or 119?....... God i hate that..if you say that (cough) your a moran, but if you actually type those words...go yourself
The analyst did not do much real in-depth research.
He says that GA only loses like 7 guys on D, which was not that great LY, but they have lost more than that (9) and the keys to their D (Rambo, Ogeltree, Jones, and NG).
Clemsux loses their best OLman, RB, TE and WR from an O that struggled against good Ds. They also lost their best D player in Willard from a D that was not good, along with their other "better" D players.
How does he come up with USC losing 5 guys on O? Ace, TJ, and Cunningham. OK, Miles / Latti too, but we have the guy back that replaced Marcus in 2011 (Wilds) plus 3 talented RBs in Davis (got good PT and performed), Carson and Williams. We lost Marcus in both 2011 and 2012 and plugged in new guys to carry our running game. We lose some D talent, but just like going from 2011 to 2012 when we lost Gilmore, Allen, Ingram, Travian, Paulk, etc., we will plug in talented guys due to our improved depth.
Lost me at #5, flabbergasted at #6.
