Knoxville's lead sports columnist makes case that USC is now the better gig.
If both the Tennessee and South Carolina coaching jobs would come open at the end of the season, which one would you prefer?

Check out the response below. They are clemsux with a different shade of orange. All they talk about is what they used to be and how it's a shame to loose to us. I've always hated UT because they have zero home grown talent and yet they take such pride as if they have accomplished something because they go in and invade states and sale the fact they have a giant sardian can to play in. I hate all thing orange and I hate trailer park trash in Knoxville and Pickens.
At the moment its USC, but only because UT is in such turmoil
Sometimes people can't handle the truth
What does Knoxville bring to the table that Columbia does not aside from the number of seats in the stadium? Location is better, facilities are better, video board is better and the atmosphere is better. Strip away the tradition and they have nothing. Remember the tradition that Army has in football? How does that work for them now?
Our facilities are not better than UT's. They also have a lot more money flowing through their program since they are the only dominant public state institution. UT is going to throw around Nick Saban type money to their next coach and they have the biggest recruiting budget of any school in the country.
I love how much progress our school has made over the past decade and we are now in the top echelon of college football jobs, but UT is probably considered a top 10 job by most coaches just due to resources and history.
Resources/ spending ability - Tennessee. Program direction- south Carolina. Recruits perception- south carolina. If you were an up and coming coach and had the choice of either, south carolina has the better chance of being successful right away because of talent and recruiting ties. Tennessee has lot of problems, stemming from the lane kiffen error. They have recruited decent, but they are losing players at an alarming rate. It's been a good 5 years since theyve been competitive. They fire dooley they have to start it all over again with a new system. What happens when bray leaves this year, or if other wr's leave? Have a new football complex and other facilities helps, but at the end winning is the biggest recruiting tool. Tennessee is a great example of how quickly you can go from winning the east to hoping to win 3 conference wins. If we don't keep it up we can slip back.
