*Deke... But yeah I agree.

Lou couldn't have said it better himself..lol
Well......I don't know how you could automatically assume his hiring is an upgrade. I'm not saying it wont prove to be over time, but Lawing is one of the best DL coaches in the country and has been doing it at a high level for years. I'm very glad that we've got another recruiter on staff and hope this new guy will be very good, but I cant understand how anyone could automatically tout this guy as an upgrade when he hasnt proven that he is........yet. I am pleased with the hire from what I can tell....but whether its an upgrade is TBD.
The best part of the past week is all of the long-time subscribers and loyal fans that have started to share on the site. Maybe we should make this "Over the Hump" month; I think our Athletic Programs are certainly at the top of the "HUMP"!
This cycle repeats with every change. Fear>anxiety>jubilation over the "upgrade". I hope he's an ace recruiter and a good teacher but it's a little soon to break out the announting oil. Hope he hits the ground running
I agree. Look, there is not way to get around Lawing being probably the best developer of DL in the country. You either have to have a guy that can do that, like Lawing, or you have to bring in guys with superior DNA. If Deke can bring in more raw talent and physical freaks, then we win in the end. I am sure he knows how to teach technique. It's going to be hard to replace Lawing, he was my favorite assistant coach. He's the best in the biz at developing guys.
If Deke can upgrade the recruiting a bit on the DL, then we will be fine. I have faith that will happen. We have some physical freaks here, so his job next year won't be that difficult. Chaz Sutton and JD Clowney are probably as talented of a duo of DE's as there is in the country. We are good to go for the immediate future. We also have what appears to be a freak in Darius English. Deke will have to build around him. Surratt, Quarles, and Griffin give us plenty to be optimistic about on the interior. Deon Green is an exciting prospect as well.
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
I'll take that as a compliment. Lol.
The usual suspects are going to whine no matter what. Carolina has done nothing but improve under Spurrier and they have b*tched and moaned the entire way, and continue to do so.
That is not going to change.
