Statement from the ACC Council of Presidents:
“We, the undersigned presidents of the Atlantic Coast Conference, wish to express our commitment to preserve and protect the future of our outstanding league. We want to be clear that the speculation about ACC schools in negotiations or considering alternatives to the ACC are totally false. The presidents of the ACC are united in our commitment to a strong and enduring conference. The ACC has long been a leader in intercollegiate athletics, both academically and athletically, and the constitution of our existing and future member schools will maintain the ACC’s position as one of the nation’s premier conferences.”

Not worth the paper it is written on. Akin to the dreaded "Vote of Confidence."
Only an unstable conference would present such a sham document. Another desperate move by Swofford and the ACC.

Or until one of our member institutions gets a better deal just like Maryland did then we will send out another email with the remaining presidents saying all is cool.
Clemtech always wants the public to think academics is at the top of priorities but yet they are the only ACC school (minus catholic schools) that does not have a Doctor leading the way
So, Clemsux's Prez is the only one who could not earn his doctorate. Seems fitting and, at the same time, hypocritical with his emphasis on (fraudulently) trumping up Clemsux' academics. Perhaps, Dilbert should baptize him and give him an "honorary" doctorate. All he needs is some sterile gloves (and he can borrow the tater fan who likes to flash his middle fingers on TV to help him).
sounds like half of them have been turned down by the sec, big 10, or big 12. kind of like a coach removing himself from consideration after not being hired for a job.
Works for me. As long as the ACC sticks together we'll continue to outpace CU in revenue. Hope it lasts another 2 decades.
ESPN blog found their vote to be funny so much so the blogger is laughing:
Clemson's president is the only one without a PhD or who isn't a priest.
