that thread ^^^ was started by bambam (bless his heart). I've nicknamed him shortbus. Here is my 2nd response in that thread..............
"Also since shortbus brought it up, we had 6 players taken in the 2012 draft, 2 were 1st rounders.
So we've had 13 players drafted in the past 2 years, UGA has had 15.
2012 Draft Defensive Players only
-UGA (boykin 4th rd, tyson 7th rd) TOTAL: 2
-South Carolina (Gilmore 1st rd, Ingram 1st rd, Robertson 7th rd, Allen 7th rd) TOTAL 4
2013 Draft Defensive Players only
-UGA (jones 1st rd, ogletree 1st rd, jenkins 3rd rd, williams 3rd rd, commings 4th rd, washington 6th rd, rambo 6th rd) TOTAL 7
-South Carolina (swearinger 2nd rd, taylor 4th rd, holloman 6th rd) TOTAL 3
Total # of UGA defensive players taken in rounds 1-3 b/w 2012 and 2013: 4
Total # of South Carolina defensive players taken in rounds 1-3 b/w 2012 and 2013: 3
Total # of UGA defensive players taken in rounds 4-7 b/w 2012 and 2013: 5
Total # of South Carolina players taken in rounds 4-7 b/w 2012 and 2013: 4
Georgia has had only 1 more defensive player taken in the top rounds in both years combined. They have had 2 more defensive players total taken in both years combined.
If the argument is solely on linebackers then UGA had 2 linebackers taken in the 1st round of 2013 draft. NONE after that and NONE in 2012
South Carolina had ZERO true linebackers taken in either draft. Holloman will end up at linebacker, Ingram was drafted as a linebacker in a 3-4 defense for the Chargers though I'm not sure how they're using him. Allen was a spur (linebacker/safety hybrid), not sure how he's being used in the NFL.
Print this and post on your fridge shortbus so you don't forget. Class dismissed."
You should have added that at Carolina you get to beat Georgia...but I guess they already know that.
Nice job. Did Sportsmommy reply to this?
Anywhere he goes? He is going to South Carolina I don't understand what is so hard to understand about that! Good dawgy, sit boy, you want a treat.
not yet. It was just started several hours ago.
''fair is not getting them same as everybody else, fair is getting what you need to succeed."
Ga fans are so funny. They want to point out how many players get drafted, etc. and how much better their players are than ours, YET, they can't beat a team they think has less talent than they do. What that says to me is that grantham and the entire puppy staff can't get their players to play as a team. With the talent ga had, they should have won the MNC. But, alas, it was not so. Those ga fans in all their delusional rhetoric, know deep down that #4 is coming and there isn't a thing they can do about it.
The ONLY reason we should be worried about the UGA game is our young linebackers against their running game and play action pass. If they can play even close to how they're taught on the road in a BIG game, we win.
SC will have the #1 pick in the Draft next year !! That is a lock !!!
Oh, I see, it's all about which school someone attends, and not how talented they are when it comes to the NFL Draft. I'm so glad that UGAly fan clarified that bit of info for me, I was so confused about that.
BTW...what gas station is it that Alshon works at, I want to be sure and buy my gas there.
This is funny - I live in St. Louis - and the biggest thing about the draft other than getting Tavon Austin is the risk that taken in drafting Ogletree.
On of the sportswriters made a comment that there is only one certainty about him - he is well rested as he generrally is suspended 3-4 games every year.
What a pathetic bunch of people over there. I swear it's a toss up between UGAy and clemson on who I hate more.
Todd Grantham is over-rated as a DC. With all that D talent, their D was ranked only 32nd overall whereas USC's was ranked 11th in total D. Rushing D had USC at 17th with UGA 77th (well in the bottom half). We also ranked better in scoring D. He has not proven that he can develop any talent and coach them up since most of their players come in highly ranked, whereas USC's has consistently taken guys and made them better. 35-7 and 3 in a row have shown that UGA's talent just does not show up on the field under UGA's coaches. That poster also did not mention the failed drug tests and busts that UGA regularly has, including Rambo and Oglestreet.
Fear the Fish
The other certainty with him is that he will be dragged up and down the field by Marcus Lattimore.
Actually I'm looking forward to rematches with Rambo, I mean think about it without Rambo where will Latti clean his spikes?
