I've missed these threads for the past two months. Only five more of why you like Dylan or Connor to go, better make sure you get your opinion out there by then!
Not a jab at people expressing an opinion on a message board, just my attempt at observational humor.

If Dylan doesn't come in at the end of the game we lose the Outback Bowl. Deal with it. Nice try OP but there is no controversy, Dylan should start.
Shaw is the only one of those two who could have avoided the sack he did on the play he got hurt before he left the game
Your trolling the wrong person. OP would love to see Dylan start.
I actually agree with you that we are fortunate Dylan went in when he did in the bowl game. I was surprised he didn't play more that day. He went in and zipped us right down the field. In the middle portion of the bowl, Shaw started struggling again. We were not able to run very well, and Shaw was not finding receivers. If Dylan had come in earlier, we would have pulled away and not even needed the last second pass. We have to be 2 dimensional for Shaw to be effective. Dylan will rip it, and that is what I like. I'm a huge Shaw fan, too, but there are situations where he can become ineffective.
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
Not even in the same class as a passer, better runner. I think they both will play because Shaw will most likely have an injury based on history. Shaw is the starter, but if he is not effective, I hope they wont wait to long to put in Thompson!
Go watch the LSU game and tell me who Shaw was throwing to on the pass that was intercepted by the safety! I love Conner but his passing is not "almost" as good as Thonpson!
No empirical data but I just got the feeling that Shaw left a lot of open receivers last year when he took off running prematurely. I like Thompson's decisiveness in getting rid of the ball and he is pretty mobile, see the 3rd and long run against Clemson which surprised all the Gamecock faithful. And there is no rule that QBs have to mobile to avoid sacks and complete passes down field, a la Ben Roethlisberger. I appreciate all Shaw has done but I don't agree with giving him the starting job because of his past performances. SOS always plays the best QB option and whoever he plays will get us there. Glad I don't have to make that decision. Go Cocks!!

Agree. I don't know why people point out the couple of balls that Dylan threw that "should have been intercepted", he missed a couple of throws, but they weren't intercepted. He was as accurate against Mich as I have seen a USC QB, also.
When Shaw gets going like he did against klimpsom in '11, the offense is very efficient. When Dylan gets going like he did against klimpsom last year, the offense is very efficient. VirWim is exactly right, Dylan is the better passer, and it is by a pretty good margin. Shaw does some things better than Dylan also. We are in a good situation to have both of them. They are both team players with great attitudes as well.
this is how i feel about it as well. but i like both and glad we have both
This thread title is dumb. If you read what Spurrier said and got "quarterback controversy" out of that, you were probably educated in Georgia.
Thompson is clearly the best QB.
That's just not accurate. Nothing clear about it whatsoever.

In two minutes of playing time in the outback bowl he passed for 117 yards and two TDs.
Nose can do anything shaw can do (run zone read draw plays). He lit ECU and CLem up like a XMas tree.
Shaw is a spot QB. Dylan is the guy. Plus he is the most popular guy on the team. A true captain.
Shaw threw for 224 yards and 2 TDs and ran the ball 10 times for 96 yards in the outback bowl. He completed 70 % of his passes. I venture to say that Dylan wouldn't have had a chance to lob that game winner if Shaw didn't get us there.
Its not a controversy but a competition between two friends and competitors who both want to win as a team!!!!

I'm not ripping Dylan at all. Just saying that y'all are selling shaw a little bit short.
you obviously dont remember the 4th down conversion shaw had. he some how managed to get out of a sack and make the play which ended up being his last. if he doesnt make that then dylan never gets in
You idiots are quick to forget the pass Shaw made to Ace after "The Hit", the scramble to make DTs game winner a possibility, etc. Honestly both of these guys have done more than enough to get reps every game but each has their faults and complements the other extremely well. Our coach has won 11 games the past two years, with let's be honest, inferior talent and overall depth. Take his word and decisioning and keep your bs to yourself.

Its not a controversy if all concerned agree as to the plan. Apparently they do. This is a fabricated subject..
