If our only loss had been to Georgia Tech we would have played LSU in Atlanta
We were number seven in the country when we went up to Raleigh. 3 Oklahoma State had already lost, and 4 Oregon and 5 Oklahoma lost that weekend as well.
So if we had beaten NC State we would have jumped up to 4 in the polls behind the trio of SEC teams. LSU’s win over Arkansas would have moved us up to 3, and I think the voters would have put a 1 loss ACC champion in the title game over a 1 loss Alabama team. The only reason that Oklahoma State didn’t get voted in is because their loss was too late. Ours was three weeks earlier, so ya we would have been in New Orleans not Miami IFour only loss had been to GT.els0528
