DALLAS: Better than ever

Saw a couple of promos this week on Leno and F & F
Lives up to billing
sure thers some stuff for us older
but there is plenty for the young who have never seen it too
It's on TNT and Im sure the 2 hour intro will be replayed endlessly but it will be on Wedn nites at 9 for awhile
JR and sibs never change....AWFUL

Agree. I watched part 1 last night. Brought back lots of memories. Will watch the 2nd episode tonight. Will be good to have something to watch this summer.

TNT show Dallas premiered last night. I watched and have looked forward to it. I was young and remember my granddad watching this and talking about it. He and my grandmother have both died but I called my parents to confirm that my memory of this was correct. They supposedly watched "religiously", which if you knew them that is funny. So I decided to watch as a tribute to them since they can not. I must say that there was plenty of sparks and the acting/actors were compelling but I am not use to the "soap" approach to writing. The number of story lines and how they were all so big was over the top. No main character had normal life all had crazy drama going on. I am more use to "The Sopranos" (exclude the Vito story), Mad Men, and The Wire!

Yeah, Dallas began as a simple nightime soap but as the feud between Bobby and JR grew they introed new players to keep it fresh and it became a sorta, well clustermess if you get my meaning. I grew a bit tired of it at the end becasue of the large number of plots....last night really didnt compare to the number in the old show but man o man...there's nothing else on
I watch news(Fox)....College Football on EXPN and NCIS re-runs endlessly...THATS IT

I'm telling my age but I watched religiously as a teen. Had a "crush" on Victoria Principal. She wasn't on the show last night.
