Dabo didn't want us to score again to make it 34-17. That's the only thing I can think of that would explain him punting it, giving us the ball around our 35 or so as opposed to their 15-20.

He gave up. I was stunned in the stands and even more stunned that none of the Clemson fans around me seemed to care. There were three minutes left and he had one timeout only down ten points... since saturday I've wondered what Spurrier thought at that exact moment.
I said they were waving the white flag and that was ball game then too. Their time out usage was very curious IMO as well. Personally I think he did a wonderfully masterful job of...SHOOTING them in the foot on multiple occasions HAHA! CLUCK FEMSON!
34-17, 4-3, 7-1, 29-7, 34-13 ALL STOP!!! It's a GREAT TIME TO BE A GAMECOCK! Back 2 Back Natty's! DOMINATION By GAMECOCK NATION!
I posed this question on the Rivals Mainboard. The few that responded said that they got up and left as soon as the punt team trotted out. I was stunned at the decision. i thought the game was in the bag by that point anyway, but that decision put me totally at ease.
Last year, it was their defense giving up (per WV and USC players) during a game. This year, it's Dabo giving up. If I was a Clemson fan, I would cancel my IPTAY dues and start rooting for a new school.
Spurrier...I appreciate him plenty

Agreed. I said the same thing when they decided to punt. "No Mas".
And there I was sitting in a state of great anticipation just before the punt team drug themselves onto the field thinking that abo had no choice but to go for it, and when he didn't make that fourth down, we'd get the ball and score again...yep, I was smiling from ear to ear just think'n bout it.... then that punk went and punted the ball.
I sat in total shock... da boy must have been read'n my mind. Knowing they weren't going to get the first down, and knowing we would score again, he punted da ball... da sissy. He should be fired for giving up. Oh wait, I didn't say that did I? I want him to stay, aside from Spurrier he is the greatest thing to happen to USC Football....bwah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha....
