My brother covers the ACC at the Fayetteville (N.C.) Observer, and he spoke with Harris' high school coach this morning.
Thought you might be interested. Found it noteworthy that Hyman is the one who blocked State.

He says (I paraphrase) "it's asinine that they will release him to Florida who they play twice a year...but not NC State".
He is also free to transfer anywhere he wants including Clemson. I think it would be asinine to think that Hyman does not have evidence that there was serious tampering involved by NCSU. His handling of previous transfers and Gill (who was a much tougher loss) speaks for itself.

The coach basically admits that coaches are talking to him and Harris even though they are elsewhere and he says that Early did not tamper. Ok, well Harris has the choice to go to any college in the country other than NC State. That should be very liberating for him. That is unless he has some incentive to want to go to NC State.

I agree. I think that says alot that about Hyman taking responsibility for denying harris ncsu so Martin doesnt have to worry about that headache and can just go recruit

These statements are not true and apparently Coach Martin has addressed them with some of the coaches mentioned. This crap went during the season and was well-known to anybody within 50 miles of the team or the coaching staff. Early apparently has beef with Hyman and Horn and was out for payback under the guise of being someone these kids could talk to. Well, what do you think they were talking about?
WG and Big Spur has been all over this and we should be appreciative. This whole basketball situation has been a mess - I hope Martin can get us out of it. He is certainly a straight shooter and has been very direct with members of the team and others who are involved. He is trying hard to get some good players here and I hope he is successful because losing Gill and Harris stings. Gill is a very good player and would get some time even with a top 10 school - he wont be a superstar, but we will see how good he is when he is playing for a coach who knows what he is doing. Harris kept getting better and he was my pick to have a huge year based on conversations with people. Finally, no way Harris goes to State to sit out 2 years. That is a bluff and NCSU does not want USC to call it and get the phone records. Won't be pretty.

Carey Rich says on his twitter that Early admits to have called Harris. He says Harris would have stayed if Martin had kept Neil Berry. Sounds like the old coaching staff was using the kid to try to keep one of them employed.

Why is Trey Brown even important. Sounds like tampering all the way. His coach is right he can go to NC State and pay his own way. His high school coach sounds like an excuse maker too me.

Early tried to get Harris to go with him when he went to NC ST, he stayed after him after Horn was fired. Early was a huge mistake by Horn, he screwed us over then bolted.

Early has admitted to calling Harris according to Carey Rich. There probably are no teeth in the enforcement of the anti tampering rules as with most other NCAA rules. Early probably doesn't care if he gets busted for tampering. At least we have some means of enforcing it.

Some of these high school coaches and AAU coaches have no respect for the college coaches and rules. From Morris and Baker's AAU coach to this jerk.
In the Daily Gamecock, there was an interview with Gill's AAU coach, and he said: "I know ya'll think you are Carolina, But everyone knows Carolina is in Chapel Hill." Talking about Gill being contacted by UNC. Damn abo jr. Buncha pricks are bitter they have not been hired by a college coach, and don't even know why.

Sounds like NC State wanted an all conference defender in the post with even more upside.

Early is full of crap.
Someone gleefully reported during the season that Early wouldn't piss on Horn if he were on fire though there is apparently a somewhat different perception of him now in those quarters...so I'm not sure that Early gives two craps what happened to Berry or any other member of Horn's staff.
He certainly would like an all conference post, though, if he can poach him.
