the ncaa hasn't suspended penn st or rutgers players. Byrd is suspended by the ncaa.
The past government was pretty screwed up also! Man we need Byrd to play!!
JC if Byrd and his family repaid the new amount would he then be eligible? And if so, is it a big difference between the amounts?
Heath Cline made a good point about Floyd. If he's ineligible now wouldn't he have been last year as well.
yep, Florida forfeits all games Floyd played in last year...anyone who works for the NCAA needs to be slapped in the face.
Amazingly absurd. I just mailed a turd sandwich to the NCAA offices. I suggest everyone else do the same.
Was this site not aware of this info prior to today? Curious why the details surrounding this topic were hush hush and "off limits" prior to them being reported by several other outlets. Now that those outlets have reported, this topic is open for discussion. Honest question.
First of all, I would never ask them to report something they did not know to be accurate.
However, when your slogan is "Your independant authority on Gamecock Sports" I believe that implies a few things.
This was not personal information about Damiere Byrd. This info was not even unique to Damiere Byrd- this org is involved with tons of athletes, as JC reported. If you choose to withhold info, fine. But to suddenly "throw up" details and info today that you sat on yesterday--only because other outlets finally got to the bottom of it and reported?
If it was worth sitting on yesterday, why come out today and shout that you knew all along? Isn't that having it both ways? You don't think it adds fuel to the fire when other news orgs say these sites are nothing but mouthpieces for the program?
If so, thats fine. I don't pay to know everything JC knows. But I also don't pay to be a mushroom. And as other outlets move to pay models, and add personel who dig and report, it can create a competitive disadvantage.
I'm sorry, for a second I thought I was a patron of your site or something. Like, a customer. I asked a legit, respectful question. I mean, I get the fact that you are on once a week with BillIsKing now, but dang.
I guess I should just thank you for sharing the info you are willing to divulge, kiss the ring and feel fortunate. I still dont think you did anyone any favors (other than the outlets that did report it earlier) by sitting on this. But that's JMHO.
