How are these two still on the radio? Id rather listen to classical music. They sound like arrogant a$$holes on the radio and don't seem to know anything a caller asks.

The whole "they don't play football the right way" argument - all it means is "they don't play football like we or I did at [school] back in [year]."

Should DJ have celebrated right over Ellington? No. Given it being a rivalry game, and all the smack Dabo and Clemson players talked for a year after losing last year, is it understandable that emotions got the best of him in that moment? Yes.

And this fantasy world of football being devoid of smack talk, personal fouls and unsportsmanlike flags back in X year is also crap. You know, when you could near decapitate another player and not get a flag I bet you didn't have as many urges to talk smack.

Also, fans have direct access to players 24/7 through social media. There's constant coverage of every minute detail of programs, coaches and players. I cannot imagine the things said to DJ on twitter, Instagram etc in the past year, especially in the weeks before the game. Sammy was running his mouth to DJ some time in the past year.

The bottom line is that DJ's celebrating right over Ellington wasnt right, but all things are not equal to football and life decades ago, and instead of tearing down players on the team and maybe some folks need to stop thinking and addressing things from such a self-centered point of view. It comes across bitter, out of touch and pathetic, and it certainly won't encourage anyone to consider your opinion.

Finally, I'll get hammered for this by some but there are definitely racial undertones in what is being said. If that was Jared Shaw, people may still comment but I very seriously doubt the intensity and borderline personal attacks would even come close to occurring.

It is amazing that hack (Heffner) is still on the air. He must have some dirt on someone at that station.

I live in the upstate, and I hate to say it, but 104.9 is miles better on the whole than any Cola radio station. They do it the right way, circle the wagons and cater to the homers.

I used to cringe listening to Teddy when I lived in Cola. The irony of a radio announcer with a speech impediment is one thing, but when the content sucks also, you gotta scratch your head.

Yeah, but they won't believe DJ, and will believe some tater idiot (Larry Williams) who never actually heard the comments. This is typical orange propaganda to deflect the 4-year domination in the rivalry. Anyone, other than tater fans (because they will), should never believe anything coming from the hills. The enemy is real and we need to keep stepping on their throats.

I find the OP saying he is 'sick of hearing people trash the program' to be hypocracy at the highest level. Maybe OP should read his own posts, and see if he gets mad.

same. I have 6 kids, 2 of whom USC, so the trips to games are not near as doable. Regardless, I don't think doing these things "gives" one a right to trash sports programs. You have the right anyway.

But you look like an ass when you constantly complain (and more specifically to you, make absurd, whiney and outlandish statements) - both during the emotion of a game and during the week - and then become self-righteous because a guy with a radio audience does the same thing you do.
