Dr. (p)Rick and Teddy ripping DJ today

  • garnetblood said...

Yeah, but they won't believe DJ, and will believe some tater idiot (Larry Williams) who never actually heard the comments. This is typical orange propaganda to deflect the 4-year domination in the rivalry. Anyone, other than tater fans (because they will), should never believe anything coming from the hills. The enemy is real and we need to keep stepping on their throats.

    agreed

But I thought it worth mentioning, because some on here may not have seen or heard about DJ's tweet. They can believe what they want, but we all know why they are complaining about this. I don't want to get specific, but it's like in politics when one side can't win on facts, they start a character debate or drum up BS conspiracy charges.

For me personally, I loved the hit and the taunt. It was ABSOLUTELY worth the 15 yards.

I don't understand why it is such a cliche' to trash radio host on a web board.. What Teddy and Sanford are talking about I don't totally agree with. Dabo brought this crap on himself if it happen. BUT.. if Jesus Christ were on the air would any of you guys trash him too? You can't host a radio show and not say everything that everyone wants to hear all the time. GEEZ

in 20 years if DJ Swearinger comes back and host a radio show I bet you guys would get all over him too!!

If Jesus had a radio show he wouldn't spew propaganda.

I'm warning people not to tune in...

Why don't you take an ad in The State to warn everyone. Two birds with one stone.
Is Rick still on work release?
I know Teddy personally, two things come to mind,Cheap and back stabber.

Dr. Rick is just a bitter old dude that thinks the university owes him everything, sick of him bashing DJ, thinks he's a thug, hypocritical as hell, Dr. Rick is the one with the rap sheet.

I don't get this. Why do so many of our guys from the past feel this way? Corey Miller has at times acted like this. Sterling's situation is different, but he has never budged on the number deal and really hasn't come back to USC to help the program. I guess the stories are true of just how much of a dumpster fire our program was in the past, even when we had some success.

Big George is the obvious exception.

  • LOL at the convicted felon lambasting DJ for how he conducts himself. Hey Rick, go crack somebodys back "Doc" and then cheat on your taxes a little more and as for Teddy, his skill set is limited to reading a paper and whining about why his wife left him.

I back this program up w/ my financial and other support such as donations to the alumni association, bowl trips, buying over-priced parking spaces around the stadium. My money is where my mouth is and thus gives me the right to complain.

    How about you?

I don't need to make excuses. My conscious is completely clear from everything I've ever said and done regarding USC sports. How much you have given to the program typed in this thread is as legitimate as calling Shawn Elliot a D-II coach.

You can't buy the right to trash anyone, a football coach, or a 2-yr old, imo.

I guess getting drunk and beating your wife every night is OK, as long as you put some money in the collection plate on sunday mornings?

  • The only relevance provided to two washed-up jocks on a morning AM radio show is provided by discussing them on the Internet. Ignore = gone.

The fact that they are still talking about DJ's hit on Ellington over a week later tells me they don't have much to talk about on their show. Business must be slow. I'm glad I have never once listened to their show, and never will.

Yep. If they win that game, you would hear about DJ a few times the day after the game and that's it. They would be to busy high 5'in and playing grab ass for it to be much more than an after thought. The fact that they are still devoting entire segments to it more than a week after the fact is comical. If I wear DJ I would feel good that I offended them enough in 4 straight victories that grown men are still bitching about it. That's really all they have to hang their hat on. Haven't heard anything from them about "x" plays from winning or where the real USC is or anything, because deep down they know they were completely dominated in every phase of the game. I think it makes them look pathetic, not DJ. He blew up your star running back and made him do a 360 in the air. Yes, he should not have hulk posed in his face but that's just natural after you hulk smash someone. I'm not saying it was right. However, if I lay that lick in a night rivalry game in front of 85k people after all the BS they have been talking to him for years, I would probably do the exact samething. Most of the guys devoting time to call in to Clemson radio shows to talk about it would too. Truth is they need more of that on their team, they know it, and are just jealous. I wish DJ had one more year and hulk smashed potkins and did it again.

same. I have 6 kids, 2 of whom USC, so the trips to games are not near as doable. Regardless, I don't think doing these things "gives" one a right to trash sports programs. You have the right anyway.

But you look like an ass when you constantly complain (and more specifically to you, make absurd, whiney and outlandish statements) - both during the emotion of a game and during the week - and then become self-righteous because a guy with a radio audience does the same thing you do.

We trash Clemson on here all day and then act offended when they do the same. This is one of the things that make rivalry's great and its just the way it goes.

Teddy is a moron who still wishes he was back in high school, one of those old guys who thinks they know everything because they played in high school. Dr. Rick is just a bitter old dude that thinks the university owes him everything, sick of him bashing DJ, thinks he's a thug, hypocritical as hell, Dr. Rick is the one with the rap sheet.

Ahh ummm ummm Teddy (insert wrestling with the newspaper) Heffner.

  • I think you missed the point. The OP is complaining about radio guys trashing USC's program when the OP is a notorious trasher of the program, even outside the emotion of a game.

  • Good grief - it's just two guys talking sports on the radio - lighten up!

  • It's probably not worth noting but it is talk radio and as such it is very opinion based. As has already been said, much of the content is repetitive, mundane, minutiae centered around egocentric memories from back in the day.

The few facts which are mentioned are the scores of the games and the schedules of upcoming games as read from the newspaper. His Oh woe is me monologues and commentary regarding his divorce and lack of finances is also somewhat off putting as well.

I'm more curious about the lead intro to the segments of the show when they mention
"award winning broadcaster, Teddy Heffner ..." What broadcasting award has he won?

I guess I could listen to Benji Norton.

  • Who are these guys? Never heard of them. I didn't even realize that a sports talk show was on radio in Columbia in the AM. From all these posts, it seems like these two are getting under the skin of Gamecock Nation. Don't listen and no one pays for the ads on the station. Then, off the air!
