Because according to the uppity folks in Charlottesville, Virginia is the greatest state in the history of the ultraverse and can exist on a map where ever it damn well pleases.

Even when it moonlights as Kentucky.

  • I sure hope I'm not the only one realizing they also left off their very own state of Texas. Hopefully the collective IQ showcased in this thread isn't a fair representation of the overall TBS membership (and USC fanbase).

Well next time you decide to call us a bunch of dumbasses, try reading the whole f***ing thread. The third post mentions Texas... no reason for the rest of us to do the same.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) Which way to the Southeastern Conference?

A Texas-based apparel company, Aggieland Outfitters, recalled a handful of T-shirts on Tuesday after they were ridiculed online for having some geographic mistakes.

The maroon shirt has an ''SEC'' logo emblazoned on a mapped section of U.S. states, ostensibly representing members of the league. But North Carolina, which does not have a team in the conference, is included and Missouri is not. Missouri and Texas A&M are both leaving the Big 12 for the SEC this year.

Texas is on the back of the shirt, not the front.

The shirt was produced by Aggieland Outfitters, which has three outlets in College Station. A&M spokesman Jason Cook said the company is a private business and not affiliated with the school.

Aggieland Outfitters marketing director Dallas Shipp said only ''a few dozen'' shirts were printed and they've been taken off the shelves and the company's website. He said the original shirt design did not include North Carolina, but when the artist drew the map, it was added by mistake.

''We would like to apologize for a T-shirt that has come under fire for its inaccuracies,'' the company said. ''Many members of the media, especially those connected to other schools in Texas, have insinuated that Texas A&M made these shirts, and that Texas A&M doesn't know geography. That's simply not true. Aggieland Outfitters designed the shirt and simply made a mistake.''

DMD, thank you. It was an attempt at humor. The intelligent people caught it and either laughed, or thought it was a pathetic, lame attempt to keep the thread going. You my friend may have not been able to understand the intent of my response. That's OK. I am a little upset with you because I feel that you and your people have no right to steal the rainbow as your symbol. No one group should be allowed to claim refracted light.

The University of Hawaii were the rainbows - wore the rainbow logo on their helmets - several years ago they decided a rainbow was right up there with the unicorn and my little pony on the fear and intimidation scale - changed their moniker to warriors.

Now, when they do their Haka War Dance - I can feel the emotion...and the fear.

  • When they play well it is very intimidating. When they don't, it makes me want some roasted pork and a drink with an umbrella in it. Last time I went to Maui, there were rainbows everywhere in the sky. It was an enduring symbol of a truly captivating island. The last time I went to Buckhead, there were rainbows on everyone's car. I appreciate some diversity but I can't be the only straight male in Atlanta. I'm takin' back the rainbows.

The only time I was ever intimidated by the rainbow was when I lived in San Francisco in the early 80's...there were a group of bull dyke lebesians walking towards my direction - In a panic, I quickly ducked into a Chinese restaurant to escape their apparent wrath and hostility.

As for football - I just don't feel my pucker factor is tightened when I hear, "Go Rainbows"

I was once stuck in a drive thru with the passenger side unlocked and the windows down when a Shaquile O'neal looking gentleman in a halter top and daisy dukes started coming for my car. I was across the street from a club with rainbows on the door but I had alreay paid. He was 300 lbs plus with no apparent fat so I had to make a quality decision. drove off without my cheeseburgers. That was the most skeered I have ever been of a human being in my vida.
