  • We're about 10 minutes from tipoff right now. There's a pretty good crowd here this afternoon but there could certainly be a lot more. Tickets are general admission and only $1 to get in. You have plenty of time to come out and see today's game.

  • I thought the crowd would be larger than this. Maybe folks will keep trickling in.

  • Out of town today. Otherwise my whole family would be there..$1.00 per person to see the Tigers whipped? That is a good investment.

  • Thanks Whittle for providing coverage, would like to see it be part of our normal bob coverage but never see that happening.

It won't. We'll be at a few of the big games each year.

  • Today isn't a big game, should beat that team by 30. They aren't in the same universe as what Dawn is building.

  • Clemson scored the first two points of the game on a pair of free throws but it has been all Gamecocks since then. It doesn't take but a quick second to see that South Carolina should be able to control the paint pretty well. Aleighsa Welch and Ashley Bruner are monsters in the paint. Clemson doesn't look like a very good team to me.

South Carolina has been a little bit sloppy with the basketball. A couple of careless turnovers and a couple of passes that could have easily been turnovers.

Gamecocks lead 10-3 with 15:22 left in the first half.

South Carolina-Clemson is a big game whether it's football, women's basketball, or underwater basket weaving.

And that's old school thinking, Dawn's not worried about cu, she's focused on UT and UF. Beat them and its a big deal.

Tennessee is a game we usually cover. I guarantee the vast majority of South Carolina fans would be happier with a win over Clemson than a win over Florida.

While beating those other teams would be great, Clemson is still our rival. And the more we beat them, regardless of the sport, the better.

  • South Carolina continuing its domination early in this game. It's 17-5 now and the Gamecocks are asserting their dominance around the rim. South Carolina has 11 rebounds to Clemson's 7 thus far. Clemson is not shooting the basketball well at all, which shouldn't come as a surprise, given they only have five points - all five of which have come on free throws. South Carolina is just bigger, more athletic, and more powerful. This game shouldn't be close.

    With 11:48 remaining, it's 17-5.

True, but then again no one said fans wee smart. Ask Dawn who she's worried about and cu isn't on the radar.

Couldn't agree more. Beating Clemson is Job #1 for our coaches.

We are fans, not the coach. If you asked Dawn who she was worried about, she would say the next opponent. However, I wish we all had your vast knowledge and insight about all things.

I understand but we cover games for TheBigSpur.com and its members. The Clemson game is the one our members care the most about. Tennessee is probably a not-too-distant second. We'll cover a few games this year and Clemson is one of them.

  • Clemson hit a couple of field goals in a span of 90 seconds but all of the other points have come from the free throw line. Gamecocks are leading 25-12 with about five minutes left in the first half. South Carolina has missed on some long shots. Keep going inside, this will be a runaway. Should still be a runaway no matter what.

  • Gamecocks played some sloppy basketball the last few minutes of the first half. Clemson is staying in it as they've hit a couple of shots, have five blocks, and narrowed the gap to 19-18 in favor of USC in rebounds. Clemson hustling and getting after it trying to hang tough. South Carolina not working in the paint as much as they should, in my amateur opinion.

Anyway, at the half, it's 31-18 Carolina.

  • South Carolina started the half on a 10-2 run but still not many buckets being made from the outside. Everything coming in the paint. Gamecocks lead 41-20 with just under 15 minutes left in the game. Ashley Bruner and Tiffany Mitchell are leading the Gamecocks with 11 points apiece.
