Jap's first career tackle as a Gamecock on the MissSt QB. it just made that "I'm Here" statement
it really sucks that he had that knee injury. he was an absolute stud MLB, which are very hard to come by

Cory Boyd will always be one of my favorite gamecocks for so many reasons but that is one of the biggest.

I remember that one. Jacked him up on the first play from scrimmage of the season. Still cant believe Henig (MSU QB) got up from that

We had a game in 2000 or 2001 vs. Arkansas in which we knocked about 11 QB's out of the game. But the best hit was Shannon Wadley on Fred Talley. Hit Talley right as he took the hand off and were it not for the fact that Shannon's shoulder was pushing the ball thru his sternum, he'd have fumbled for sure.

Thats a great hit. Today that would have been a personal foul penalty. The game is getting soft.

not really "hits" per say, but we had 3 moments last year that really got my juices flowing.......
1),B-Madd jumpin on ole auburn's boys head, and macho man-ning on the other defender as he came down.......
2) Gilmore ripping off Julio's helmet....I can picture gilmore yelling at julio, that ain't how you wear that ish* after he saw his do'....
3) Gurley laying out 3 vandy defenders while completing the reception........
as for hits last season, I think one that is oft overlooked was the lick Holloman put on Mark Ingram, I believe....dude stuck him at the line, and to Ingram's credit, he pushed and got the first down, but It sent a message, I believe, that we weren't the track at bama and that they weren't going to run all over us....
as for all time, I have to say bodybag's hit had me the most giddy......I remembered I replayed that for like a whole week straight when I first saw it...loved the announcers reaction also!!!
ps... I believe before his career in garnet and black is over, D.J. Swearinger is gonna murk somebody....

for all you old timers out there...
Bernard Grant was a corner for us in 1978 or so... about 5'9" 170 lbs max.... He hit a Kentucky fullback on a swing pattern that I could hear all the way up in the West Upper.. It was impressive, especially given his size... probably gave up 30-40 lbs on the guy.

I was sitting in the student section when that hit happened and the thing I remember most about it was the loud noise it made on contact. I figured both guys would be hurt but Cory just hops right up and that UVA safety never moved except for some twitching. That was a loud hit.

Not only got up but played at least another series with a broken collarbone. Either his adrenaline was pumping big time, he's a tough SOB or a combination of both.
