Define "fishing shirt"...if you're talking about the Columbia PFC I don't get the argument.
One could say the same about why a "polo shirt" on a golf course?

Maybe cause they are comfortable, cool and look nice. And you can leave the shirt tail out.

This is what I appreciate most about Carolina. We have a nice mix of everyone. Some of us hunt, fish, and are outdoorsy. Some of us are "fratty" with the polos and haircuts, and some of us are not. Why do I say this? Because questions like these are never asked on the UGA, Auburn, Bama, and Tenn boards. It's just nice to see that our fan and student demographics are diverse as opposed to being a majority "country" or semi yankie. So to answer the OPs original question from someone who wears the Columbia shirts: 1 they keep you cool and 2 we are in the south. I would rather see those than half of what the golfers and fans wear. White belts are are about as douchey as it gets. They scream typical "trendy" American style just like gelled hair and popped collars. Ricky Fowler is about the most awful dressed golfer I have ever seen.

Well said, I was joking about the about the steel rod, I have my fathers with the reel. Tried golf once, could not drink that much and walk much less shoot a 78 as my friend did.

When I first bought my primary property, we never got golf balls in our yard. The last two years we've gotten over a hundred. The game is getting too common and lower class if you ask me. Seriously, I suspended all my club memberships because I thought I was single handedly bringing the game down. I wish more people would have the same respect that I do. I mean portable grills on the links? High top Nikes instead of golf shoes? Stick to basketball. If I were younger, I would.
