South Carolina became the second school to offer four-star CB Grant Haley last week when he attended the Gamecocks' junior day. He gives this thoughts on the program inside.
He ain't coming here. He may like South Carolina but he is Florida or Academic Bound (Duke, Harvard, Stanford) He comes from a good stock of people and is very smart.
He may or may not come to USC, but I wouldn't discount the possibility based on academics. My own daughter went to USC on valdedictory, LIFE, and other academic scholarships. USC was the best choice for the major she wanted.
If the young man wants to major in business or go the pre-med route, USC is a very good choice.
Not knocking USC's academics, just giving insight to what was told to me by a family member when I was pumping up the gamecocks to them. I don't remember where his dad, Leon went to undergrad but I think it was an ivy. Not sure.
I wouldn't be so quick to say that any recruit just flat out isn't going to come play for us...i think our coaches do a good job of recruiting the players that THEY see to be fits for our program on a talent and character basis. With that said i think that after the crazy recruiting season we just had that included so many twist and turns i think it firmed up the notion that no one but these young men know where they are going to go and play ball and anything could happen...Any school no matter how big or small (ole miss) can have a lot of success on the recruiting trail for whatever reason so don't count us out on anyone just yet
Meh. I want kids with their priorities right. We ain't trying to run no chess club.
Kid sounds like a Florida lock if ever there was one.
I don't believe Muschamp's brother being his head coach doesn't help UF. I would be pissed off if I was Will and that is true
I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass, and I am all out of bubble gum.
They appreciate the South Carolina offer, don't get me wrong but they are looking for something that meets all of their criteria and South Carolina is a school that they have some interest in.However, watch UF, STanford.
Someone remind him that UF, historically, was not a football power until SOS got there.
Pix of a Passer/King angelfish (saltwater). Got him as a 1.5inch baby. Now, 12 years later, 14inch adult.
