    That's pretty cool. One of the things I hated about DH was his arrogance toward HS coaches.

    I'll defer to WG, but I don't think Horn was arrogant with high school coaches at all. He and his staff had excellent relationships with them to the best of my knowledge.

    First time I heard him speak was at a coaches clinic at JL Mann, he told the coaches that if UNC, UK, or Duke doesn't want your kid then neither do we.

    I was an AC at a HS in SC and he was never a very outgoing person. It didn't bother me that he ignored me bc I was a nobody. But when football coaches who came to our school and went out of their way to be nice to me when I had no influence over their recruit, it really surprised me.

    This has nothing to do with recruiting bc I think DH did about as well as anyone in recruiting. I just always got the vibe he thought SCHS Bball was beneath him.

  • Frank Martin has become instant buddies with a LOT of the coaches in SC. He talks to Coach Whipple at Irmo at least 2 times a week.

    Anytime I hear about us getting LJ Peake at Gaffney, upvotes are going to flow. If we can have Thornwell and Peake on our team at the same time, we could play with anyone, anyone. If Frank can pull that off, we are a final four team.

  • Frank Martin is a good guy that works hard and expects his players to do the same. HS coaches like that attitude. The better your relationship is with HS coaches, the better the recruiter you'll be. Recruits trust their coaches.

    The news of Frank Martin talking to a Gaffney Coach would prove his entire theory on life wrong. There's is absolutely no way a Gaffney recruit would even consider our beloved Gamecocks.....this just cant be!!

    The facts are Horn recruited numerous players from South Carolina that didn't have offers from UNC, dook or Kentucky. Given that why would he ever have made such a statement?

    Not sure what an "AC," is maybe you meant AD, but it's my guess is you didn't get your ego stroked at some point and now that Horn's taken his two million dollar golden parachute and left the state, you're getting a little revenge.

    I listened to the words come out of his mouth. Assistant Coach is what i meant. I have no ego, I was an AC. I defended horn when everyone wanted his head. U can go back and research if u want. I was in the gym when he said that. So was Damien Leonard so maybe it worked. But remember he was going to Clem before Parnell left.
