It was a banner day for the Gamecocks in the women's golf NCAA championships. The team entered the day tied for 18th after the first of three rounds. Today, the team shot minus-7, which was tied for fifth overall last I checked with two teams ahead of them still on the course. There's a good chance when the day is done that the Gamecocks will be tied for second overall. Alabama is winning by about 10 strokes and it would take a pretty big collapse, which is possible, to lose the title this week. Great bounce back day for the team though and they're doing the university proud up in Franklin, Tenn.
Also, Katie Burnett shot a 67 today and was third overall in the individual competition the last time I checked. Been a good day for the Gamecocks.
