I do not understand why Kentucky would offer this kid, and I think it would obviously be a mistake for him to take it as they will clearly recruit over him every single year.
But Calipari offered Stacey Poole (a much higher rated player) in a similar position and he took it, so we know that there is precedent for bad decisions.
If this were Tubby Smith's Kentucky, I could see this for him, but I don't see a guy like this getting much run for Cal. Cal is going to recruit a lottery PG a lot of years, and definitely a top 25 guy.

that is highly debateable. they have had their struggles and Ellington might have been a good PG if things had gone differently; but he isn't particularly one now.

In regardsthe to currentthe UK PGs, Julius Mays is a good player and Harrow needs to get his head right, but has talent...Both transfers and 4 year guys...
Hawkins would bring some continuity, however he would have to see that he could start one year and then not play the following year then start again...he would be the backup QB at Ky (who always looks at the next big thing)...at USC he would be an integral part of a rebuild...
Do you want to be a Jon Hood Twany Beckham (good local prep players lost behind higher profile national one/two and done players) or do you want to be a Hickey or Cortney Fortson (brings program success for which you are a big part of turning around)
