Garcia lost his grandfather this morning.

I am not 100% sure on this, but it is being talked about on other gamecock websites. It appears that Garcia's grandfather passed away this morning. Prayers sent, hang in there big guy.

Confirmed. Augie Garcia passed away this morning while in hospice care. Garcia was at practice tonight and plans to leave for home after the game Saturday.

I'll be pulling very hard for Garcia on Saturday. Obviously, because it helps us win the game. But also because this game will be very emotional for him, and I'd like him to leave the field Saturday with a good memory of an inspired performance.

No idea, but they were pretty close from what I understand. The story I remember from last year was: Augie had life saving heart surgery last September. He initially didn't want to do it cause he said he had enough. But he eventually decided to have the procedure for the soul propose of having more time to watch Stephen play ball. Then after the Bama game Garcia dedicated the win to Augie.

Prayers go out to SG and family. I guess emotionally speaking, SG will be our "Wounded" Warrior this weekend. Damn, I'm pulling for him now more than ever before. Here's hoping the team rallies around him and gives him the support he needs.
