Sorry bud but that's a B.S. answer. How long have you been giving and is it at a silver spur level? Matt call the guy in charge immediately. I got screwed last year and did not call. The lady I spoke to high up said if I woe have called she could have helped. Do it now! Loyalty still has some sense of respect

How is that a B.S. answer? It is the truth. Regardless of whether you or I agree with it or not, the point is there is written rules that each member is aware of. They are the same for everyone. What was stated above is absolutely correct and not a B.S. answer, but factually correct. Do I think they could work with him a little, certainly. However, going into the move, he should be aware of the consequences and know unless someone point blank tells him no problem, we will work with you. He is at risk of losing his seats. Any thoughts otherwise is where the B.S. is here. Just saying.......

Oh, and before you choose to throw your math at me too........Silver Spur and ticket holder for the last 31 years - 8 seats!

Times are a little hard this year and I dropped my giving level back to a half scholarship this year. I have done this several times in the past, but I have given between a half scholarship and silver spur for 32 years. I called and they have taken my seats. I have purchased all 4 seats for 32 years straight and now I've been bumped. They will not tell me where my new seats will be until I send them the money. I'm a little pissed off! I know we need to make money, but we should be careful what we build. By my calculations that's about $40,000.00 just in scholarships, not including tickets, food and beverage, etc...

I feek for you my brother. Literaly, my brother!!!

I'm not really trying to get in your business but just trying to give you some friendly advice. I wouldn't be announcing on a public forum that your tickets were passed down from a family member* because technically that's not allowed. I personally don't care and wouldn't rat you out but there are a lot of people that would do that to try to get your seats.

*I'm assuming your Grandfather has passed away

Actually it is allowed. You have to give at a certain level though. It used to be the Silver Spur and Golden Spur memberships could be passed on to one beneficiary. Now you have to give $10,000 in order to designate an heir for your tickets. So technically I am not posting anything that many other people have not done.

The membership is in my name now and has been for the past three years. USC is aware of this and sent me the paper work.....

  • Please keep in mind that USC Football and Gamecock Club, etc is only entertainment (I know, blasphemy) not essential to keeping the family fed or a roof over their heads. As for me, if i don't have the available cash for said entertainment I don't participate. Really simple. And as for the argument that past participation entitles you to current consideration I ask; Did you receive anything for past participation? If yes, then there's your answer. If there was any hint that current participation entitles you to something down the line then that's another argument. I suspect this is not the case. If everyone dropped their giving level by over half in one year where would the Athletics Dept. be, financially speaking? While i have complete empathy for anyone going through tough times I maintain that rules are rules and they apply to ALL of us.

Where were your seats. Some seats REQUIRE you to maintain certain levels of giving or you lose those specific seats.

  • Yes they can be gifted. It just has to be done the right way. You have to go up one selection for it to be legit... full schollie to silver spur. Thats what I did and they said that was the only way I could keep priority. I wont be able to gift mine though. Its only allowed once. Things may have changed in the last 8 or 9 years but thats how it was back in 2004.

Also when is money for tickets due? I never received anything...

I stand corrected. I did not know that it was allowed but at certain levels.
