Not sure you can say its the best staff we've ever had yet but I hope you're right. Spurrier has done a fantastic job hiring since the '07 season or so (was that when Ellis/Beamer, etc hired?)

Don't know. Maybe he was simply Peterson's mentor.

He was, part of his job was to convince the defensive backs at LSU that they ought to play a more physical style and that it would help them in both college and the NFL.
He taught that same physical style at So. Miss. that helped their secondary make big strides.

We were outside his top group, now top 3, so many brown will be a reason we get him, but still have ground to make up.

Really, guys....is this your first rodeo? Young coaches, especially at football hotbeds like LSU do not always start off coaching their specialty. DB is obviously Grady Brown's specialty and he was hired on at LSU as assistant strength coach to get his foot in the door and learn from a great staff. Do y'all really think every coach starts off at his specialty position? Come on.
