Obviously, he enjoys the "Welcome Home" parties thrown after National Championships and sees where the football program is headed. I hope fans who have come aboard in the last 10-12 years or less can appreciate how far we've come as much as those of us who have followed our athletic department much longer have. This was the best possible outcome for us right now IMHO. Un-Carolina may be his alma mater, but I get a feeling when I see Dr. Hyman, Dr. Pastides, etc., they are and have been BIG FANS of being here and feel big parts of the family.
We are in a great position across the board, and although many are trying to sabotage the tracks this train is on, we've got the best people in place to keep the engine steaming forward. I also respect the fact he came out quickly and made this statement. Obviously the Holes tried to sweeten the pot, but in the end, dedication to seeing the vision through won out, and I deeply, deeply respect that.
