No, did I ever say Fired means you resigned?
If a Coach resigns without another position on deck he or she was fired. It happens all the time and Walvius falls into this category.

He did fire Walvius, even if it was classified as a resignation. That should be plainly obvious.
He didn't hire SOS or Dave Odom.

What is Stiles' employment status? Is she a classified state employee, or is she under contract? If she is a classified employee, then like most government employees, it is extremely difficult to fire her. A few "honest" mistakes is probably not enough. If she is under contract, it is hard to understand why her contract has not been terminated.

Hyman unlike others before him is determined not to have the Frank McGuire syndrom haunt USC for years post the exit. Smart guy.
