Has there ever been a player/person like Marcus Lattimore? I don't think so. He's a once in a generation kind of guy. God bless you, Marcus. You will make a difference in people's lives whether it's on the field or off. You are an inspiration and people across America are in your corner.

We love this young man, and all the comments by so many different people show you what kind of character he has. If anyone can rehab and fight his way back, It's Lattimore. I pray we haven't seen him carry the ball for the final time. We need to rally around 21, and let him know Gamecock Nation is here for him!

I know team and program come first and life goes on but in my 41 years of being a gamecock there is NO ONE other INDIVIDUAL that has been a better example from our team, university, or state in the athletic world. Whether or not he ever plays again, we in gamecock nation should never forget what he's done, is doing, and will do for us. God be with you and your family, it is the saddest day but proudest day in my life as a Gamecock.

I'm not a poster but a reader on this site but this breaks my heart... What a fine young man and whatever is ahead for Marcus, I'm sure he will be the leader he has always been and I pray for him. I don't wear jerseys either but tomorrow, I will be buying a number 21 and I plan on wearing it next week, work or not. Marcus has been great for Gamecock Nation and once again he has brought us together. Prayers to him and his family.

I have been a Carolina fan my whole life and graduated from there in 1980. I have seen many fine football players come out of our university over the years but none better than Marcus. Not only is he a fantastic player but more than that he is a better person and role model than I have seen in a long long time if ever. I have no idea what the future holds for this young man but I'm sure he will be a huge success at what ever he does. May God be with him and his family during this difficult time.

Would have gladly traded a loss in this game for a healthy Lattimore, so sad. I put out a prayer for him in the stadium right after it happened.
Could it be though, that this is just the beginning of an epic story? One in which Marcus comes back for his senior year, everything comes together, he wins the heisman and we win a championship?? Could you imagine it? Maybe that is God's plan for Marcus!
