From a completely objective point of view...I don't really care what they do outside of one Saturday in late November. We keep winning that and we will out-recruit them no matter how many conference championships they win.
plus it's fun to give their fans a hard time.

Agreed. Even though I usually cheer for them to lose very game, it would be pretty awesome to have two top 5 teams in that game. Would elevate the rivalry IMO.

True but it was the worst ACC in over 35 years. Not one top 20 team to end the year.

We won the SEC East when it was by alll accounts at its lowest point in a while, but that doesn't diminish the accomplishment from my perspective. You either win it or your don't, and it doesn't matter to me how it happens.
With Clemson, I'm sure they are very proud of winning the ACC and going to a BCS. I would be too. Yes, the ACC was way down but they still played better than the eleven other teams in the conference. That counts for something.
The problem with winning the ACC and playing in the lowest rated BCS game is that outside of the two conferences involved in the game it doesn't mean very much. For most people the Orange Bowl was just one more game they had to watch before the Alabama-LSU rematch. On top of that, the only publicity they have received outside of the northwest SC from playing in the game has been negative. So despite their accomplishments, I think it was pretty much a wash for their program.

I would love it if we played a top 5 UGA, top 1-3 LSU and a top 10 or so Clemson this year. Maybe even a top 10 Arkansas. If we could go 3-1 or even 4-0 against that... Man I don't know what I'd do. Would definitely help recruiting.
