I would rather have Bryant than Nikmendeche any day

I'll take Nkemdiche. I'll take the #1 player in the country each year. Clemson's coaches, the head man included, work very hard at recruiting and it shows.

Just like all our coaches showed by landing the #1 player in the country, last year.

Yep, a SC guy. I'll be interested to see if we land the #1 player from out of state any time soon.

    Spurrier...I appreciate him plenty

  • You guys are funny. This commitment made the front page of ESPN.com, the only prep article to do so today. It's all about what have you done recently and today is Clemson's day. Like we did, they can sell this. But I fear they will sell it much better than we did. Who are y'all kidding? I'm not saying they will beat us by 46 again but Clemson's coaches will absolutely build on this commitment like no one else. That's what they do: sell. Robert Nkemdiche is far and away the best prospect in the country and, if Jadeveon Clowney did not exist, would be considered the best prospect in over a decade. I despise Clemson. But stop pretending this does not matter.

Yeah, and Dabo roomed with RN's coach at Bama and gave schollies to his two best friends. Don't act like this was some totally cold recruiting coup, because it wasn't. Frankly, this one is easier to explain than Dabo pulling Spiller out of Florida, a team with no RBs and where he would have won two MNCs. He can certainly sell 18 year old boys from modest backgrounds.

Regarding RN, my money still says he doesn't end up at CU. If he does, he's sold on early PT and playing against inferior competition to help his stats/pathway to the NFL. That tells me he doesn't want to compete with and against the best...good luck to him.

Talk about a crazy threesome. Dabo, Dabos mom and Nkediche's coach in one bed.

We got the one we need on campus today so who cares about about Clemson and Kneckmendechee? That being said it is huge for Clemson to get some press with this guy. They have virtually no momentum in any sport so they have to give their fans hope with some commits that may or may not stick. I'm glad getting a commit isn't the highlight of SCars summer.

I'd rather have ACE than Steve Cook

Well, Clowney exists, and we have him, and RN does not matter.

However, Clowney is in fact on our team..........whereas Robert Neme...whatever still has time to waiver and decide to play in the SEC after seeing (or not seeing, 12:00 games not on TV) Klimpson play this season......Lets not crown Dabo recruiting champ just yet......as you love to do.

Mike Davis was committed elsewhere this time a year ago and we all know where he is at currently. Ill give credit for recruiting in April....not in June.

  • I agree with Steve. The way Lawing develops D-Lineman that come in with a big upside not really concerned about there commitment as far as the rivalry goes. Personally I think he will take some visits this Fall and become a soft commit. If Florida State beats there ass like I believe they will this will give leverage to other coaches to get in his ear. Long way to go IMO. For those that have followed recruiting for years should now a player of his caliber announcing this early can be a double edge sword. But as the OP said Bryant is the key... along with Rolin already on board we meet the needs of the class on D.

I don't know about all that. He is the best this year, but Reuben Foster is close to him. He is just a bull, he is physically like a college junior as far as power. Definitely a good prospect, but I don't know about that best in a decade besides Clowney, either.

I don't know how much Clowney's signing helped our recruiting. I don't know that it didn't, but I don't know of any prospects who came here because of him. There could be some, I just did not hear about it.

I don't think people are bashing the kid's talent. I don't care how good you are in high school, you have to develop. If you took Chaz Sutton and put him on a high school team right now, I bet he would be the #1 prospect in the country. I just don't think he will reach his potential at clempsun. He will play sorry competition, and get sorry coaching. That is people's point about this.

    False.

I'm not that worried about it. We all saw how much they got out of that Bowers guy. Even with Watkins lighting it up, we still beat them.

They will always have 2 or 3 studs on every team. We are a better team overall.

I don't agree that he would be the best in over a decade if not for Clowney. If I am not mistaken JC even said he was pushed by the #2 and #3 players for #1.

He is a great pick up for them... no doubt. But he is not the 2nd best in a decade.

Steve, you make a very good point - Chaz would be one of the top rated prospects in the country. I must say I'm a bit taken aback with this love fest. I bet we faced 5 or 6 defensive lineman that were drafted last year - the guy from Miss St drafted in first round may have been hurt? As good as he's going to be, we see great players every friggin week. He will make them better next year - he will not make them a good team. It's a hell of a get for Clemson and I think it's a ZERO % chance he decommits as his HS coach wouldn't let that occur, but people are getting a little carried away. Clemson and Dabo equal a poor man's Texas and Brown - they out recruit all the inferior schools around them, stick their chests out and tell you how good they are, but never ever prove how good they are. Once again, most over rated, over publicized program ever.
PS I guess those two teammates that were thrown in, just wiped out two more potential O lineman, but that doesn't matter.
