our University would be well served to adopt the interlocking SC as our primary logo. The block C is ok but the Gamecock is barely visible. You see the SC logo sported across the country. Brand identification. Our ath dept has a swagger to it. I think it would make our University even more visible. You see the SC in Garnet and Black and know that is South Carolina.

I agree completely. Its cleaner, more identifiable and more modern imo. I think our helmets look dated with the block C. Doubt our university would be willing to adopt it overall without the ability to trademark.

The real USC is the one that didn't finish in the top 25. The real Carolina is Academic Fraud U. South Carolina back to back Top 10. Got it.

agreed. only way i would prefer our current logo is if it came with a garnet helmet. not that you wouldnt still be right, im just a sucker for the old garnet helmets.

I don't like the interlocking SC. I prefer the block C. In fact, I wish they'd increase the size of the block C on the helmets to the 1975-82 size.

Agree. I like the block C and would rather leave the interlocking for baseball and hats/shirts

I agree also. I think baseball with the interlocking SC and football with the Block C. I think Gamecock with both.

Agreed!! However we will not adopt it because we cannot force people using it to pay the University to pay for it.

I would be in support of this if we could trademark the logo but we cannot. I would like to see us have a helmet made that we could use perhaps in one game a year with the interlocking SC logo. See concept helmet below that has been floating around for a few years.

I agree but you need to be able to make money off of it. We tried to trademark the interlocking SC and were shot down.

Id also like to add to this that we outlaw the Lou Holtz interlocking USC logo.....And if you own anything with that logo please burn it......freaking awful that i still see that logo being worn.........

Scott Edelman, an attorney representing the Los Angeles university, hailed the ruling as protection of the school's "primary athletic mark" used on team clothing and equipment that brings in significant revenue. Sports logo registrations are not limited to use in team colors, so there was potential for South Carolina merchandise to be mistaken for that of USC, Edelman said.
