She probably doesn't and you are most likely correct but we all know how political certain events can get especially in this state. I only asked about Nikki because she is a tater and we have her in office right now.....Really wondering just how political this type of move could get....

Don't think the SEC gives a crap about what our less that respectable governor says about USC or the taters. I don't see how she could influence the SEC at all. They are not based in SC, but, I don't know how all that works either.

I would not put anything past that taterette. If she could, I am sure she would. I don't think she has much pull anywhere, though. I don't think even the republican party wants anything to do with her anymore.

First of all Clemson would come to the SEC in a split second but the invitation from the SEC is the holdup. But if it were on the table, I guess she would have 1 vote as a BOT member and may be able to get the guy she appointed in Darla's place to vote with her. But I seriously doubt any other BOT members or USC administration would see it as a benefit for USC to allow Clemson to join the SEC. If the USC/UF/UGA/UK voting block is still in play then it isn't going to happen.

No Democrat, no matter how qualified, is going to win a governor's race in this state in the forseeable future, unless there's a David Beasley-like scenario where a Repubican incumbent alienates his base -- and the Democrat is able to take advantage of a wedge issue like a lottery.

That means that Nikki Haley's only vulnerability would be in a Republican primary. And the last poll I saw had her with a better than 50% approval rating among Republican voters.
