I can't say I blame him. It's downright pathetic that we pay our AD considerably less than Purdue, Oregon State, Texas Tech, Boston College, Wake Forrest, Duke, Illinois and many, many other mediocre programs. Anyway, kudos to Texas A&M for stepping up and doing whatever it takes to compete in the SEC.

I thought Hyman was all about keeping salaries low?
Was that more of a University directive than his personal policy preference?
If the later, then apropos that his salary was lower than industry standard

Read the fine print, alot goes into these salaries and Hyman makes more than that article states, the figures given were also the numbers giv en by the school. Most schools have ways to compenstate employees through other means that will not be reported.

1. Tony said his compensation package was 800k, not his pay. Although I am glad to hear the university picked up his continental breakfasts, airfare, and tickets to whatever game we were playing in.
2. That's still considerably less than he'll be making at A&M.

Vanderbilt pays their AD more than any AD in the country. Over $2 mil.
This post is a major troll, as are most of your posts.
But, paying an AD that much money is stupid. Just dumb. Hyman made a very competitive salary, other schools paying all that money to an AD are just being like clempsun: paying outrageous salaries just for the sake of it.

While they do offer Williams one hell of a package at Vandy, he has more than just one job. He is also Vice Chancellor of the university, and also serves as general counsel for the University as a fully tenured law professor.Plus he oversees the medical center. They are the ones getting a great deal imo Most of his compensation, 1.5 million, is deferred leaving him with a base around $ 750k

I agree to a point... His salary is doubling... Who wouldnt leave? We pay hyman more than uga pays their AD and about the same as bama. Vandy pays their ad more than anyone on that list... How good are they in the sec?

I agree that the OP is a douche. But I for one would have liked to keep Hyman a few more years and Tanner at coach for a few more. Just a couple of years really. But I do hope we go with Tanner as the new AD.
