I take a practical view. Barker would have backed up folks his 1st 3 yrs. This means we get to add an impact kid to this yr's class who can help the team much quicker. I wish him well except when he plays against USC. That's all their is to it.
Schollies are golden this yr. Only those who really want to be Gamecocks need apply. In the end the McCall kid from Dillon could end up being a huge priority next year for the 2015 (or is it 2016?) cycle. Given a choice I always prefer a kid from the Carolina.
I am in no way bunged with Barker. He's a Kentucky kid. He may be amazingly close to his family and just not be willing to move 8 hrs or so away right now. I can fully understand that. Lord I wish I the ability tio visit my mom & dad again.
I think he saw we have two Freshman QBs on our roster right now (one RS and one true). Those are 2 guys are ahead of him already as far as system knowledge and practice time. I dont think he thought he would see the field for a long time here and ultimatley chose to go somewhere where early playing time is a better possibility considering the crappy QBs already on Kentucky's roster.
